Central Illinois Disaster Recovery Grants
The Community Foundation of Central Illinois has awarded the first round of grants from the Central Illinois Disaster Recovery Fund totaling $112,000 to the following organizations:

  • St. Paul's Episcopal Church - $5,000
  • Boys & Girls Club of Peoria - $4,000
  • Center for Prevention of Abuse - $4,000
  • Crittenton Centers - $4,000
  • Family Core - $4,000
  • Greater Peoria Family YMCA - $4,000
  • Heartland Health Services - $4,000
  • Midwest Food Bank Peoria - $4,000
  • Neighborhood House - $4,000
  • Peoria Friendship House - $4,000
  • Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois - $4,000
  • The Center for Youth and Family Solutions - $4,000
  • The Salvation Army - $4,000
  • Illinois Ability Sports - $3,000

Women's Fund Leader Luncheon Update
Due to uncertainty regarding large gatherings the rest of the year, the Women's Fund Advisory Board has made the decision not to hold the Women to Women Leader Luncheon in 2020.  A virtual event would not provide proper recognition of the award nominees or the award winners, therefore, we plan to reconvene in 2021. 
 
We look forward to celebrating the amazing women in our community next year in person!  We would like to extend a very special thank you to our 2020-2021 sponsors:
Meet Our New Board Members!
Anne Fox was born and raised in Peoria, graduating from Bradley University.  As CEO of the Central Illinois Chapter of the American Red Cross for more than three decades, she was responsible for coordinating disaster relief and emergency services, and organizing health and safety education. Anne has volunteered on numerous boards including the Heart of Illinois United Way, the Children's Home, Methodist College, Bradley University College of Education and Health Sciences, Eureka College, and the Junior League of Peoria, just to name a few.  Her community honors are also numerous and include the Robert H. Michel Lifetime Achievement Award, Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce Athena Award and Tom Connor Award, Eureka College Presidents Servant Leader Award, the American National Red Cross Tiffany Award for Excellence, and many more. 

Anne has o ne daughter, Amy Jenkins, son-in-law, Richard Jenkins, and granddaughter, Juliette Jenkins.



David Wiest   is a partner at the law firm of Hasselberg Grebe Snodgrass Urban & Wentworth.  He practices in the areas of estate planning and estate administration, labor and employment, real estate, and business law.  In 2017, he was named an Emerging Lawyer by Leading Lawyers magazine.  David attended the University of Illinois received his B.A. in Economics and graduated with honors from the University of Iowa School of Law.  He  is active in the community and was named one of Peoria's 40 Leaders under Forty by Peoria Magazine. David currently serves as the Vice President of the ICC Educational Foundation Board of Directors, on the Advisory Council of the Emerging Philanthropists Fund, and on the Board of the Peoria County Bar Association, currently chairing the Real Property Committee.  
 
David has long been involved with the Community Foundation of Central Illinois.  In 2011, he began serving on a scholarship selection committee at CFCI and participated for three years.  He was a founding member of the Emerging Philanthropists Fund in 2013, joined the Advisory Council in 2016, and was Chair of the Fund from 2017 through 2019.  He is excited to continue his participation now on the Board of Directors.
 
David is a lifelong Peoria-area resident.  He is an avid golfer and proud supporter of Peoria Park District golf.  He and his wife Liz live in a historic neighborhood of Peoria and enjoy working on their 100-year old Craftsman home, gardening, and chasing after their Irish doodle puppy, Borgo.



Becky Wood  is an Instructor in the Management and Leadership Department of the Foster College of Business at Bradley University, and serves the entire institution as University Operational Director of Conve rgence. She also serves as co-chair for the business and engineering Convergence Committee, as well as advisor for two organizations within Bradley- Phi Chi Theta and ALPFA- Association of Latino Professionals for America.  She received her MBA degree in Business from Bradley University and her undergrad from Bethel College in Mishawaka, Indiana. She has been active in the area of marketing and advertising for over 25 years and was a frequent contributor to the National Auto Dealers Association (NADA) conferences.  

Becky is native to central Illinois and has two daughters, and her three-year-old grandson, Simon. Her community involvement over the years has led to many awards including the Forty under 40, The YWCA Leadership Award, the PHI CHI THETA Faculty of the Year - three years in a row and Advisor of the Year-both at Bradley University. Most recently, Wood was one of the recipients for the prestigious the WEEK 25 Women in Leadership Award. Her hobbies include golf, motorcycles, body building competition, and walks on the trails with her labradoodle, Jean Luc.

This event is free for all ages. However, participants who are financially able are encouraged to contribute to the Community Foundation of Central Illinois Disaster Recovery Fund.  Donations support local non-profits affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Donations will help fund grants to allow organizations to provide emergency food and basic supplies, interim housing and shelter, primary health care services, utility assistance, and support for children and vulnerable populations.
