5th Grade Assembly Spotlight

On Monday, 5th graders enjoyed a performance of 1776, a musical telling of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.  The assembly helped students connect history to life.  This was a learning experience that aligned with the current American History unit in Social Studies.  It was a wonderful production and the students loved it!  In January, 5th grade students will participate in Williamsburg CCC (Celebrating Cossitt Curriculum).

The 1776 Assembly was provided by Cossitt PTC as Curricular Support.
Volunteers needed for Family Fun Night!
Friday, January 10, 2020 6:30-8pm at the Park District of La Grange

This free family event includes fun activities for all ages--Knockerball, basketball, connect 4, table games, DJ/dancing, candy walk, face painting, a raffle with fun prizes and more!

We need parent volunteers to keep everything running smoothly, so please join us! Shifts are just one hour! If you are coming with your kids anyway, please consider volunteering!   We're also accepting responsible Park/LT student volunteers. This is a fun way for students to volunteer together!

NOTE: Because this event is the Friday after winter break, it would be a huge help to have volunteers sign up now! THANK YOU!

Contact Committee Chair Lisa Bucaro  with questions or to set up volunteering for LT/Park students.

Technology Exploration Committee
Parents! Are you tech forward?  Do you have experience with audio visual equipment? Or do you have ideas related to technology at school?

If so, the Technology Exploration Committee would love to hear your ideas!   A result of the Dr eam Big survey, this committee will be focused on on 2 main tasks:

1. Researching and evaluating options for updating the AV equipment used in the LRC and during assemblies or special events.
2. Exploring options like monitors or projectors for use by teachers in the classroom.

Please contact [email protected] to volunteer or share your suggestions!

Thank-You!
Special thanks to Nothing Bundt Cakes for their generous support of Cossitt PTC! We hope everyone took advantage of ordering delicious holiday goodies from Nothing Bundt Cakes!
Thank-You Student Service Council!
Thank you to all those who donated hats, gloves, and mittons for the students of Tutoring Chicago.  Hundreds of warm items were donated by Cossitt families and distributed to children in need this week.

Because of your help and others around Chicago, nearly 800 children from low income families across the city received gifts, books, and warm winter wear.

Sixth graders Nora McPartlin and Keira Jenke volunteered on Wednesday at one of their locations and distributed over 100 gifts directly to the children.

Thanks to the Student Service Council for organizing this!
Questions about the PTC budget? Please email Melissa Diebold at [email protected]  to receive a copy. The Cossitt PTC budget is also available at all PTC meetings.
