Eagle Access Card
Make sure to get your Eagle Access Card with you when you come to campus.

Having the Eagle Access Card virtually eliminates the need to carry cash. Your Eagle Access Card serves as a means of access to different stored value accounts. Simply deposit funds into your personal FLEX or Munch Money account and then use your Eagle Access Card all over campus to make purchases! Click here to learn more about the Eagle Access Card.

Students must bring a government issued ID card to receive a USI Student ID.

University Health Center
The University Health Center provides medical services and health-related information to students, faculty, and staff. The healthcare providers at the University Health Center are employed by Deaconess Clinic. For billing, students can enroll in the Office Visit Plan, provide private insurance or pay out of pocket.

Office Visit Plan (OVP):
Services Covered by the Office Visit Plan:
  1. Unlimited visits with the medical staff for illness or injury.
  2. Five CLIA waived tests: strep test, mono test, urinalysis, pregnancy, and flu.
  3. A yearly flu shot.

There are two ways to enroll in the Office Visit Plan:
  1. All students living in University housing are required by University policy to be enrolled in the OVP. The OVP fee is automatically charged to your account for every semester that you are consecutively enrolled at USI.
  2. Students living off-campus may submit an online form to enroll.

Flu Shot Information
All students who wish to receive a flu shot on campus are asked to schedule an appointment online. Appointments can also be made by calling the UHC at 812-465-1250, though online scheduling is preferred. Flu shots are free for students with the Office Visit Plan. Students without the Office Visit Plan can bill the flu shot cost through insurance or pay $25.

Recreation, Fitness and Wellness Center
The Recreation, Fitness and Wellness Center is making sure social distancing guidelines are being met. Check out their website for more information about how this semester will look if you go workout!

David L. Rice Library
Rice Library is offering several services to facilitate the safety and health of its users and library workers during the pandemic. You are encouraged to take advantage of extensive digital resources and online services, including walk-in item pickup and curbside item pickup. The Library is also offering online reservations for first-floor study and technology spaces.

Beginning Monday, January 18, Rice Library will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday.

Campus Dining
There are a variety of dining options available on campus which provide the social experience essential to campus life. It gives you the opportunity to gather with friends, take study breaks, hang out, relax and unwind after a hard day of classes and activities. Come dine at the USI restaurants and enjoy the comfort, convenience, outstanding food, and inviting atmosphere all designed especially for you. You have a variety of restaurants to choose from, all conveniently located within walking distance of on-campus housing and labs/classrooms. 
Meal Plans
There are a variety of meal plans available to students. All meal plans are a combination of meals in The Loft and Munch Money.

Students can purchase a meal plan or make a change to the plan they have already selected by contacting the Eagle Access Card Office.

The deadline to change a meal plan is midnight, January 17 in writing by emailing foodmealplans@usi.edu, be sure to include your full name and student ID number along with the change you would like to make (e-mail must come from your USI e-mail account).

Meal plans start Monday, January 18.
USI Dining Lingo
  • Meal Plan Swipes - Eagle Meal Plans are for students who prefer to eat every day of the week in The Loft and offer flexibility for retail dining at their leisure.

  • Munch Money - Munch Money can be used to purchase anything that is sold in the food service operations, including non-food items at the EagleXpress Convenience Store (C-Store) located in the Community Center. and Starbucks. Munch Money can be added without having a meal plan.

  • Flex Money - Flex Money can be used for laundry utilities and for using University printers. Funds can also be spent on food, but there is no tax-saving option.

As the Spring Semester approaches, campus dining services have updated their hours as students return to campus. The dates and hours listed are exceptions to normal dining service hours. View campus dining changes for the school year.

What's Next? - Student Billing
Welcome to Screagle Nation! The Bursar’s Office is a student’s one-stop-shop for billing and payment options.  If you have any questions, visit the Bursar’s Office website for more information about student billing.

1) Viewing Spring 2021 tuition and fees in TouchNet.  TouchNet is a portal available through myUSI that allows a student to access their billing statement, sign up for eRefunds (direct deposit), pay their bill, enroll in a payment plan and view their 1098T form. Billing statements will be sent on January 5 and will have the student’s tuition, housing, meal plans, and financial aid itemized. The Spring payment is due January 22, 2021.

2) Authorized Users
We understand that many parents and family members may financially support their student through their higher education. To simplify the process and communication, we encourage students to add their parent(s) or guardian(s) as authorized users in TouchNet. Students and authorized users can log into TouchNet to view their itemized charges, enroll in a payment plan, or pay in full. Visit the TouchNet FAQ page for more information.

3) Payment Plans
Students and authorized users may enroll in a Spring 2021 payment plan now. Current payment plans require a minimum of 10% down with four monthly installments or eight bi-monthly installments. There is no enrollment fee or interest on any of our payment plans.

4) eRefunds
Sign up for eRefunds to ensure your refund is processed safer and faster. Log into TouchNet and click on Direct Deposit to enroll today.

USI Insider Tips - New Student Tips
Start this year out right by looking over these tips. Make sure you are getting everything you need and staying on top of everything so this will be the best school year, yet!
  1. Make sure to get the textbooks you need for class
  2. Get a planner and use it to stay on top of all your homework assignments.
  3. Meet at least one new person in each of your classes - to help make connections and provide an opportunity to ask questions outside of class.
  4. Explore campus - you might find shortcuts to your classes, and the more you explore campus, the better you will be at finding your way around.
  5. Find good study spots - find the place that works for you and know what kind of environment you study in best.

New Student Orientation
Freshman and Transfer Students Students that are a freshman or transfer students with less than 59 credit hours will complete Screaming Eagles Orientation in three parts
These three parts include:
  • Part A: Participate in a Virtual Advising Appointment and Register for Classes
  • Part B: Complete New Student Online Orientation 
  • Part C: Participate in the Virtual Screaming Eagles Orientation
Upper Level Transfer/Adult Students
Students that are transfer students with more than 59 credit hours or are 25 years of age or older will complete Screaming Eagles Orientation in two parts. 
These two parts include:
  • Part A: Participate in a Virtual Advising Appointment and Register for Classes
  • Part B: Complete Transfer/Adult Online Orientation

Safe Return to Campus Plan
Spring Classes Reporting In-Person January 19
Students enrolled in specific classes will attend in-person meetings beginning January 19, 2021. These classes, such as laboratories and studios, have hands-on experiences and will be held on the USI campus. Other classes have clinicals, practicums, student teaching or internship experiences held at off-campus locations. Faculty will instruct you regarding online components of the class. If you have questions, please contact your faculty member or the Provost Office. View the list of In-Person classes reporting January 19

All other classes will start remote and will return to their previously scheduled modalities on February 8.

Face Coverings  
While on the USI campus or University-owned and -operated facilities, students, faculty, staff, contractors, vendors and visitors are required to wear face coverings when in buildings, including in classrooms, hallways, lounges, restrooms and all other spaces. Face coverings must also be worn in outdoor areas where physical distancing is not possible. Face coverings are not required in private offices or when in a space alone. Face coverings can be removed for dining, but they should be worn as soon as finished.

Anyone with symptoms of COVID-19, or who has been exposed to someone with COVID-19, should fill out the self-reporting form, remain off campus and contact their primary care physician for evaluation.

USI Foundation Scholarship Applications
The application process to receive a USI Foundation scholarship in the 2021-22 academic year is open. Applications must be submitted no later than January 15, 2021, through the AwardSpring application available through myUSI.
Filing the FAFSA Form
The 2021-2022 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available! You should be completing your FAFSA for the current year and upcoming 2021-22 academic year. If you are seeking Indiana state aid for Fall 2021, you should file the 2021-22 FAFSA by April 15, 2021, the Indiana state deadline to be considered for state aid.
