Dear Parents,
The Office of Catholic Schools is certainly keeping their eye on the tropical weather that is in the Gulf. If there is a change to our school week, you will be notified.
It is Red Ribbon Week! This week is devoted to learning how to live a healthy and drug-free life. Congratulations to 8th-grader Emily Gillis who was selected for our Red Ribbon Leadership Award.
Today our students enjoyed wearing their pajamas to school as they woke up drug-free. Below is the schedule of our remaining activities for grades K-8. Preschool families should check with their student’s teacher about which activities their class is participating in.

Red Ribbon Week Leadership Award
Each fall, Red Ribbon Week is celebrated across America to promote the importance of a healthy, drug-free lifestyle among our youth. As part of the awareness program, the Drug Education Council, Inc honors outstanding students from Mobile and Baldwin County who are selected by their school as the Red Ribbon Leadership Award recipient. These students exemplify the 6 pillars of Character promoted by the Character Counts initiative and the Drug Education Council. These include trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. We are pleased to announce Emily Gillis as this year's award winner from Corpus Christi Catholic School.

The parent meeting for children receiving First Reconciliation is tonight, October 26 at 6:30 p.m. in the Banquet Hall. Frist Reconciliation will take place on Monday, November 9 at 6:30 p.m. Individual celebrations can also be scheduled.
Each month students learn a Bible verse and recite it together during our morning prayers. We also pray a particular prayer each month. During the month of October, we will learn:
Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
Our prayer focus is The Memorare.
We would love for you to work with your students at home to learn this verse and prayer.

Some of our grade levels are having a Halloween celebration on Friday before our noon dismissal. Our students eat lunch in the classroom together each day, there certainly isn’t a problem enjoying a special Halloween treat in their classroom. However, please be aware that parents are not allowed to attend the celebrations due to our COVID guidelines. If you are sending a special treat, please send it via your student or bring it to the office. We hope before the school year is over that our families will be able to join us at school events!
We will have a noon dismissal on this Friday, October 30. Please plan accordingly!
Due to COVID, we are unable to have our traditional awards ceremony. Instead, students receiving honor roll awards will be recognized in their classrooms. Students in grades 4-8 meeting the following award criteria will be recognized:
Honor Roll - no more than 2 “B’s” and nothing below “S” in Special Classes.
Principal's List – This award is given to a student who receives all “A’s” and nothing below “S” in special classes.
In addition, students in K-8 are eligible to be honored with the Christian Attitude Award. This award is given quarterly to two students in each class who consistently display Christian values, attitudes, and actions.

Don’t forget to keep selling those coupon books! We have one week left of our sale. Orders are accepted everyday through Friday, Oct 30! The deals are fantastic and the book usually pays for itself after only one or two uses. Check out our list of businesses. If nothing else, please consider buying one for yourself. You won’t regret it. Our school earns 50% of the cost of every book sold! Also, if you participate in our Scrip program, you can earn additional credit. Please contact Scarlett Moulder at scrip@CCSCatholic.com if you have any questions or would like to order a coupon book.
