This month we would like to recognize and offer a special congratulations to our Pediatric Clinical Specialist, Karen Balk, MOT, OTR/L for accomplishing a professional goal of presenting internationally earlier this month.

Karen presented her research work on patients who have GNAo1 disorder and gene mutations. Karen presented to roughly 160 attendees from 20 different countries as apart of this international conference that was held virtually.

With Halloween being later this week, pumpkin carving activities are sure to be in full swing. As Hand Therapists, we are concerned that nearly every year we have patients referred to us following carving accidents often involving serious injuries to their hands and fingers. These injuries can require surgical repair and sometimes take multiple months to rehabilitate. Here are a few safety tips for carving your beautiful pumpkin creations:
