Idaho Women 100
Think  ahead to 2020 and be part of the Idaho Women 100, which commemorates the national centennial of women's right to vote in the United States. Developed by a non-partisan coalition of Idaho arts, history, cultural and education organizations, Idaho Women 100 advances and celebrates women's leadership throughout our state.
Did you know that women in Idaho have had the right to vote since 1896, 24 years before the 19th amendment to the U.S. Constitution?
How can Girl Scouts be involved in Idaho Women 100? Since Girl Scouts foundation in 1912 by our visionary founder Juliette Gordon Low, Girl Scouts have been leaders in opportunity for girls and women. For Idaho Women 100, we are invited to create events, presentations and programs celebrating 100 years of women and girl's contributions to political, cultural, economic, academic, social and other fields. Icon Corner: Thank you notes: More than just a courtesy
The days after Christmas can have a sort of serenity to them. All of the shopping is actually done. There are a few days until New Year's with nothing much to do. It's a great time for some family bonding time. One of the things you can do with your children is writing thank-you notes.
You may have bad memories of doing this exercise as a child if you were forced to sit down and hand write notes for what felt like hours. It's important to realize, though, that times have changed. Whether it comes in the form of a printed note, an email or a handwritten card, writing thank-you notes has distinct benefits. You may be a romantic for the power of handwritten notes, but that doesn't mean your kids will feel the same way. Be prepared to compromise; a less-than-perfect note is still better than none at all.
