Folsom Cordova selects next Assistant Superintendent for Secondary
Superintendent Sarah Koligian, Ed.D., has selected veteran educator Jim Huber, Ed.D., as Folsom Cordova's next Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Curriculum & Instruction, effective July 1.

Dr. Huber has been with Folsom Cordova since 2006 and is currently the Director of Curriculum & Instruction. Previously, he served as principal of Mitchell Middle School, where he was instrumental in implementing the growing International Baccalaureate Programme . He has previously served as the Director of Curriculum and Professional Development in St. Hope Public Schools, and as School Improvement/Small Learning Community Facilitator in the Sacramento City Unified School District.

The executive-level assistant superintendent position provides support and oversight of the District's middle and high schools, as well as its alternative education programs. Dr. Huber will fill the upcoming vacancy left by Kathryn Allaman, who announced she will retire June 30.

"With the vast experience not only in his current role, but also in his previous leadership roles in our schools and other local districts, it is with great confidence that I am selecting Dr. Huber to fill the enormous shoes Mrs. Allaman will leave behind," Dr. Koligian said.

"In the last year and a half, I have seen Dr. Huber successfully work side-by-side with team members across the District, from classroom teachers to senior leaders," she added. "He has immersed himself in the curriculum and instructional leadership that continues to foster a seamless system of support for students across all grade levels."

Dr. Koligian also announced that she will not backfill the Director of Curriculum & Instruction position Dr. Huber is vacating. This allows the District to eliminate a director-level position as Folsom Cordova continues to identify long-term budget savings.

The Folsom Cordova Board of Education is scheduled to ratify Dr. Huber's appointment Jan. 16.
