The Latest News
Monthly Dinners still on hold
Wanted to give you an update on what's been happening and current plans.
As of today, we are still closed to the public while the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic are beginning to ease, somewhat. We are holding video board meetings now bi-weekly as the news is constantly changing and we would like to open up as soon as it is safe for us to do so.
On the good news side,
Estrella Warbirds Museum applied for, and obtained, a paycheck protection forgivable loan which will cover most of our employees, at least temporarily.
As a growing facility, there is still work that needs to be kept up during the closure time. Not having any income while we are closed is a huge strain on this non-profit and our intentions are to do what we need to to insure all of our investments in this museum remain protected.
You shoul
d already be aware that we have moved the
Warbids Wings & Wheels 12 event to September, along assurances from our special guest Dennis Gage, and musical guest are available for the September event. Registrations are still open.
The 75th Normandy Anniversary Wine bottle raffle is still on but drawing date is in limbo if there is no June monthly Dinner. We'll keep you posted.
Thanks for your understanding during this time period. We are looking forward to the day we can visit once again at the
Estrella Warbirds Museum & Woodland Auto Display.

New at the Woodland Auto Display
Having had a bit of time to stop, assess, and refresh while the museum was required to be closed, we have been busy! Been catching up on displays and photos we hadn't had a chance to complete. The main project, however, was starting from scratch with our automobile "mini library." It now has approximately twice as many books than previously. There are numerous biographies which are really interesting, as well as numerous books related to automobile racing, both in the US and abroad. There is also a section which covers the history of the automobile as well many of the various marques from Ford to Bugatti, Ferrari, and the likes.
When the "new normal" arrives and the doors are once again flung open, we will be set up to have these books checked out by EWM members, as well as by our local visitors from Paso Robles, Templeton, Atascadero, San Miguel, etc.
