Our lawn care services are being affected by the supply chain issues felt globally as well as the drought from summer 2021. We want to alert you to some price changes that will occur this year.
First is the iron that we use for moss control. We get this product from overseas. In the past, it was a byproduct with low value. But now it costs up to three times as much as it did in the past. Also, shipping has delayed delivery to the US. If you have a mossy lawn, we will be contacting you about price changes.
Second, seed prices have quadrupled. The extreme heat wave from last summer baked the seed used throughout the Pacific Northwest. There is a limited amount of grass seed available, and the price has gone through the roof. This affects landscapes that are on our overseed schedule. We will contact you about the price changes as we get closer to spring overseeding.
We would like to remind you that if you get the iron service, you will need to rake out the moss. Once the moss is gone, we will schedule aeration and overseed services.
In landscapes where a lot of moss was removed, we will need to go heavy with the seed and possibly topdress to protect the seed. YOU WILL NEED TO WATER THE LAWN throughout the entire growing season to keep the new grass alive.
If you have questions, please reach out. We can explain this further. And if you need to meet on the property, we can make arrangements for that, too.
