Asian Center Empowers Immigrants and Refugees

Each year, Asian Community and Cultural Center staff serves over 1,500 immigrants and refugees in the Lincoln community and beyond who are in need of support services. Throughout 2021, the Asian Center's Women's Program continued to provide case management services, financial literacy classes, women's exercise classes, sewing and art classes, and support services for families experiencing domestic violence.

To begin 2022, the Asian Center is preparing to safely celebrate the Lunar New Year on Febr. 12, at the Lancaster Event Center. Learn more about their programs and the upcoming event.
Surviving a Nebraska Winter

Winter is upon us and not just winter - a Nebraska winter. How are we going to maintain our sanity if we are cooped up for months on end?

When frost hits the air, and snow hits the ground, the outdoors can look more like our enemy than our friend. But we can still reap the benefits of the outdoors for our emotional and physical health with some smart planning and a little courage.

Read our latest Health and the City column in the Lincoln Journal Star for some great ideas. Co-written with LNKTV Health.
LNKTV Health's Facebook and Twitter pages are being merged into the City of Lincoln's social media. But don't worry, you can still find all the LNKTV Health video productions on their website, the LNKTV Health TV stations and You Tube channel like these:

Stay safe and active this winter with the Winter Health and Wellness playlist offering expert advice that includes these and more:

Partnership for a Healthy Lincoln is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving and protecting the health, wellness, and fitness of Lincoln's children, families, and seniors.

We work to improve wellness policies and conduct community level health research. We collaborate with community partners to promote healthy weights through good nutrition and fitness, improve child and maternal health by supporting breastfeeding, create better patient outcomes by increasing cancer screening and vaccination rates, improving chronic disease management, increasing preventative outreach, and standardizing clinical practices. During public health crises like the COVID 19 pandemic, we help to protect community health by providing science and evidence-based information.
Partnership for a Healthy Lincoln also works to improve health equity in our community, addressing disparities among racial and ethnic populations with the highest burden of chronic disease.  Systemic racism is also a threat to community health. We stand in solidarity with everyone who is fighting for greater equality and justice for all.
