Local Media Matters

During these difficult times the long-term viability of our local media is at risk. Now more than ever we need local journalists keeping Seacoast area residents informed about stories affecting the Seacoast of New Hampshire.
People are consuming more online news than ever before. Despite this, all of our media outlets--radio, print, broadcast--have experienced significant decreases in advertising spending.
Local businesses rely on their announcements being published and national publications turn to solid local journalism for stories to keep the public informed. Nothing can take the place of on-the-ground reporting of facts.
Senator Jeanne Shaheen also expressed her desire to support local media in an April 8 media release. She was one of a number of senators who called on Senate leadership to include funding to support local journalism and media in future COVID-19 relief packages. You can read the media release and letter  here
We know we are in unusual, hard times. Our media resources are depending now more than ever on digital subscriptions and can use your help. If you can, please help our local community by supporting our local media organizations.

Dermatology & Skin Health is excited to share that they will be giving away an exclusive experience for a special person dedicated to fighting COVID-19! The goal behind this giveaway (valued at over $12,000) is to celebrate an individual front line (health care, volunteer, law enforcement, etc.) worker who has shown incredible strength and resilience while serving patients of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Bret Carmichael, owner of Leap Works, had the great idea to make a local search engine. Check it out today!

Volunteer as a garden tender today!

The Joe B. Parks Riverwalk Public Gardens  is seeking 2020 garden Garden Tenders.
Situated along the banks of the Cocheco River off Central Avenue in Dover, this urban oasis is a series of beautiful gardens filled with flowers, unique rhododendrons, mountain laurel, hosta, daylilies, and countless other plants, many relocated from Joe Parks' own gardens. The garden depends on volunteers to help maintain and tend to the gardens enjoyed by the public each year.
