June 10, 2021

Because they didn't fully trust God and so didn't fully obey God, Israel was living in the land God had promised, but alongside people who practiced despicable acts in their worship of false gods. When the people of Israel begin to experience distress because of their disobedience, they cry out to God, and God once again raises up a heroic spiritual leader.  Deborah, a judge, prophet and leader, delivers Israel from the grip of King Jabin, with the help of the military leader, Barak, and a clever woman, Jael.  Vocal and wise leaders can help turn us back to God if we are willing to listen.

Join us as we continue a 4-week sermon series, The Judges, this Sunday with the message "Judge Deborah."

Nametags for Worship
As we begin to worship in-person again, you may realize that you've forgotten some faces/names over the past 15 months; or want to get to know our Salem friends (and help them to know you!). To help, we'll have stick-on nametags available. For the 9 AM outdoor, there will be a small box on the cart, and for 10:30 AM indoor, there will be a table in the hallway near the Sanctuary. If you would like a more permanent magnetic tag, contact Laurie Wallace Theisen, Director of Lay Ministries, at ltheisen@asburylv.org.
