Aging Insights
New episode! The last one of 2020. Older adults who report being socially isolated are more likely to die sooner, experience declines in mobility and are at increased risk for mental health conditions, says Dr. Alison Thomas-Cottingham, an associate professor of psychology at Rider University. She and Karen Alexander, Managing Director of the New Jersey Travel Independence Program, NJTIP @ Rutgers, explain ways to keep seniors connected, aided by technology and other solutions, on the 111th episode of Aging Insights.

Be sure to visit our YouTube channel where you can watch all of our previous episodes and other content (webinar recordings, virtual classes, etc). And be sure to subscribe so you don't miss any new episodes.

Help us be a voice in Trenton for older adults and caregivers.

NJ Foundation for Aging (NJFA) believes that everyone has a right to age well in the community of their choice – don’t you? We have been advocating for this for over two decades. We invite you to help us continue our work.

For more than 20 years, NJFA has been addressing such social action issues as senior housing, elder economic security, hunger, older workers, and transportation, with:

  • leadership in public policy and education to ensure that we can all age well in the community of our choice.

  • educational forums and an annual conference offering development opportunities and best practices for professionals entrusted with caring for seniors.

  • our award-winning monthly TV show, Aging Insights, featuring local and national experts whose guidance helps connect seniors, their families and caregivers to community-based services and resources. (Subscribe!)

We are “getting b(older)” in 2021, and your generosity will allow us to keep moving forward. Are you with us?
We are seeking proposals for workshop sessions for the 2021 conference. Click here for details on submitting proposals.
