Meet our new STEM Coordinator
Hello! My name is Hayley Jo Vasquez. I am Boys and Girls Clubs of Carson's new STEM Coordinator. Although I have only been behind Carson’s blue doors for the past two months, my passion for our mission started at the Boys and Girls Club of the Foothills 9 years ago. I'm excited to help Club kids explore robotics and engineering concepts, learn to code, and have fun with science experiments I am so proud to be a part of such an excellent and hardworking team. I feel the passion here, and it's incredibly comforting.

Check out the STEM volunteer opportunities highlighted below. I can’t wait to work with members of the community to help bring impactful experiential learning to our members.
We are committed to closing the opportunity gap in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) with innovative and creative programs, activity ideas, and resources for Clubs and the youth we serve. After-school and summer learning environments provide unique opportunities to advance STEM knowledge and increase interest in STEM-related careers.
Members of John Muir Middle School members learned about the science behind Tie-Dye! Members created unique socks and masks through the chemical reaction between cellulose in cotton and fiber-reactive dye! Lots of fun and lots of learning around here!

Boys & Girls Club of Carson has an incredible, experienced team dedicated to excellence, and together, we will do whatever it takes to build great futures for our youth!” Dillon
Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson is pleased to announce grant funding from The Play Equity Fund as part of its #SpringIntoPlay campaign to support organizations in the after-school enrichment ecosystem providing organized sports and play programs in underserved communities.

The mission of the Play Equity Fund is to bring access to sports and play programs to all kids, regardless of their family’s income, zip code, or socioeconomic standing. In the wake of a pandemic, the Play Equity Fund is now building a unified response to a crisis during this pivotal time as children come out of a year of social isolation.

Here at Boys & Girls Clubs of Carson, we are enabling youth to socially reconnect with their peers and participate in healthy activities through sports and play. We are incorporating diversity, equity, inclusion, and social-emotional learning to anchor sports as the catalyst for youth resiliency post-pandemic.
BGCC Team Poster Party, creating playful playground expectations to increase physical activity, create a space where every student feels respected, valued, and part of the game regardless of gender, identity or ethnicity.
