Friends of Bluff Lake-

The weather might be getting colder, but here at Bluff Lake we are as active as ever! Our education team is working hard to provide fun, safe opportunities for families, and our site team is continuing to manage our wonderful habitats. We are so thankful for your continued support which allows Bluff Lake to continue serving as a safe place for you to Explore, Discover, and Enjoy nature.

We hope you can find time to visit the site this Fall and enjoy the changing of the seasons. You may even get lucky and see our new red fox friend that has been on site a lot in the last few weeks! As we head into the giving season, we hope you consider supporting Bluff Lake through a donation of any amount. Help us keep this community gem in great condition for everyone to enjoy!

Boo on the Bluff

We had so much fun at our annual Boo on the Bluff Halloween Event. The program was reformatted this year to be a "Spooky Self-Guided Scavenger Hunt" where kids searched for hidden pumpkins around Bluff Lake. The event took place over 3 days (Thursday to Saturday) and we saw 785 people. We knew we had a great opportunity to host a safe outdoor Halloween program that the community would love, and we were right! Here are a few of our favorite photos.
We had a blast! Thank you for helping to make Halloween feel special this year and for giving us a chance to connect with each other and with nature.
Thank you for doing this. SO many things are cancelled and it was great to get outdoors and celebrate Halloween in nature.
We LOVED this! It was my favorite Halloween activity we did. We loved that it was educational and not just candy focused.
Thank you 2020 Eagle Scouts!

In 2020 we had the privilege of working with 3 Eagle Scouts. Each one did a great job learning about the needs of our site, organizing a project during the time of COVID, and helping us enhance our visitor experience. Interested in doing your Eagle Scout project at Bluff Lake? Please email info@blufflake.org to find out more.

Other Site Updates

If you've been to the end of the boardwalk lately you may have seen that the large bench is no longer there. Unfortunately sections of the bench had not weathered well and we decided to remove the bench due to safety concerns. But we recently put several temporary benches on the boardwalk for visitors to enjoy. Hopefully next spring we will build a new bench! Have any ideas or want to help out? Email us at info@blufflake.org.
