Greetings, MPH Families,

As we look toward the first day of this historic school year, please take a moment to watch the short video message above and to take careful note of the details in the bullet points below.

Morning arrivals and afternoon departures will look very different than they have in past years. We will need everyone’s attention and cooperation to ensure that students arrive and depart from campus as safely and smoothly as possible. Please go to the "Morning Arrivals and Afternoon Departures" section of the MY MPH portal for the following information:

You can also find written instructions for arrivals and departures in the updated Health Protocols, which are also posted in the MY MPH portal.

Preparing for the first day of school will require a new set of school supplies this year. If you will be returning to campus, among the things you will need are a water bottle and a face covering. (Note: bandanas, neck gaiters, and masks with vents are not allowed.) Complete supply lists can be found at MY MPH. You might want to take a sneak peek at next week’s lunch menu, too. Each division will follow a modified schedule on Tuesday and Wednesday to give everyone plenty of time to reconnect with one another after many months apart, to welcome new friends, to learn and practice new protocols and routines, and to welcome those who will be attending school via simulcast access. Students and teachers will kick off this historic year using technology to gather for our first All-School Assembly during which we will all participate in a reimagined, virtual Handshake Ceremony. We will share this highlight with families in communications later in the week.

Travel over the upcoming holiday weekend, and making plans for future travel, will require extra thought in order to safeguard the health of our community. Please do not visit any location listed as restricted by the state of New York.

Details about how to complete the Daily Health Assessment (DHA) are being finalized. Over the weekend, please watch your email inbox for updates. The DHA will need to be completed by 7:15 a.m. every morning for every student and MPH employee – whether or not they will be on campus – starting on Tuesday.

In the meantime, I hope you and your family enjoy the long weekend ahead – taking time to rest, relax, play, and savor these lovely late days of summer. I look forward to welcoming everyone on Tuesday to begin the 2020-2021 school year.

Many thanks and best wishes,

Dave McCusker
Head of School
