Press Release: Governor’s 4K Expansion Plan Brings New Day to South Carolina’s Children
Governor Henry McMaster has announced that his forthcoming budget will include $53 million to increase access to full-day, 4-year-old kindergarten (“4K”) for low-income students in every South Carolina school district, creating opportunities for thousands more 4-year-olds across the state.

ICS celebrates this historic proposed investment in the children of the Palmetto State, an essential step to make South Carolina a state where all children have the chance to succeed, beginning from birth.

Out & About
SC American Academy of Pediatrics Chapter CATCH Meeting

Pediatricians are a crucial resource for families in supporting early childhood health, wellness, and development. ICS was delighted to join the recent SC AAP chapter meeting in Charleston to meet with practitioners, better understand challenges and opportunities in the field, and share what we are working on.
ICS co-convened and led a "listening luncheon" on Friday afternoon focused on maternal mental health and the role of pediatricians in fostering two-generation mental health.
ICS President Jamie Moon and Vice President Bryan Boroughs presented to the 200 in attendance on ICS's focus area and our policy priorities for 2020.
