SENIOR SHOWCASE AUDITIONS
Senior showcase is an annual opportunity for seniors to share their talents with family, friends, and classmates. If your senior has a special talent (music, dance, art, sport, etc.), please ask them to consider sharing with their class at showcase. Be creative and think outside of the box. If your student has a unique talent that they want to share but don’t know if it would be possible, please email Ruby Mathis at s-mathisr@bsd405.org. Auditions open Monday, January 17th and close Friday, February 4th at 11:59 pm. All auditions must be limited to 3 minutes in length. If your student wants to submit works of art to be displayed in a gallery walk, please have them submit photos of each piece instead of a video.
"We all come to the theatre with baggage. The baggage of our daily lives, the baggage of our problems, the baggage of our tragedies, the baggage of being tired. It doesn't matter what age you are. But if our hearts get opened and released -- well that is what theatre can do, and does sometimes, and everyone is thankful when that happens."- Vanessa Redgrave

STAFF APPRECIATION LUNCHEON
Dear BHS Families,

Happy 2022! The Lunar New Year or Spring Festival is just around the corner; it falls on Feb. 1st, 2022. Our PTSA will host our "1st" year of Tiger Staff Appreciation Luncheon on WednesdayFebruary 9th. Though our teachers and staff really miss the variety of home-made foods from the community, with this ongoing pandemic, unfortunately, we're not yet comfortable to do that . Thus, please continue to show your support and love by donating $$ for this luncheon. And our committee will order food for our teachers and staff from the restaurant. We appreciate your support, as always!

WOLVERINE GUARD 2021-2022
The 2021-22 Wolverine Guard Program is going strong!  We already have received applications and hours for some students.  For those who aren’t familiar with it, WG is a Bellevue High PTSA sponsored award that recognizes students who perform 100+ hours of community service in the 12-month period from May 1st to April 30th of each school year.  Students who complete the WG requirements earn a certificate of recognition and who get WG two years during high school, get a special tassel at graduation.

For current guidelines, rules and required forms for WG 2021-22, please go to the BHS PTSA website, https://www.bellevuehighptsa.com/wp/ and look under BHS PTSA Programs.

As a reminder: The PTSA WG program is separate from the Bellevue School District's volunteer hours requirement for graduation.  However, hours that are earned to meet graduation requirements may also be used to meet WG requirements. You will need to download WG forms off of our website to both record your hours (and get supervisor’s signatures!) and the WG Application form.  Thank you to those students who are supporting people through giving your time and energy. You do make a difference!

Please contact Patti Liffick or Nancy Huenefeld Gese (Your WG Co-Chairs) at wolverineguard@bellevuehighptsa.com with any questions that you have.

FREE CAMP 4 KIDS
Hello!

We are Free Camp 4 Kids and we are looking for high school teachers for volunteer hours!

Free Camp 4 Kids is a nonprofit organization aiming to help younger kids experience fun and develop passion during this unprecedented time. We give all students the ability to participate in engaging camps without having to worry about financial burden. Since quarantine, we realized that many children didn’t have a lot to do at home, especially elementary students. That is why last summer, Free camp 4 Kids was started! We currently had over 525 students and 30 different teachers, and we are starting another session this upcoming mid-winter break. Our focus is fun camps such as robotics, cooking, dance, origami, and more! So if you have a hobby you really enjoy, sign up to be a teacher!

Signing up to be a teacher will mean you will teach from February 21st to February 25th. Classes will be an hour long but teachers can choose the time they want to have class. You will receive volunteer hours for the 5 hours you teach but also the planning as well! The deadline is January 21st and we will reach out to interview you after you submit your application!

Deadline is January 21st, 2022

We are looking forward to your application!
