50 DAY COUNTDOWN TO JUBILEE
DAILY DEVOTIONAL
Collect for Our Jubilee Year
Lord God of all creation, fill us with your grace as we remember your kindness and goodness towards us, through providence and through struggle; and let the trumpets proclaim the year of Jubilee, a year of the Lord’s favor, as we dedicate ourselves to reorient our mission efforts to renew your Gospel in our midst. May your Spirit inspire us, we pray in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
October 15: Expect
For today:

It is 50 days until our Jubilee Revival, “Just Mercy, Just Jesus.”  Though it will not be as we had expected, we will still gather virtually on December 4th for an evening of music, prayer and inspiration from the Most Rev. Michael Curry, presiding bishop and primate of The Episcopal Church; and Bryan Stevenson, author of the book, "Just Mercy," and founder of the Equal Justice Initiative.

Today you are invited to join in 50 days of daily preparation for that event by prayer, meditating on God’s word, contemplating quotes, images and music, and reflecting with fellow pilgrims. Each week will focus on a different theme: Expect, Awaken, Strengthen, Restore, Just, Mercy, and Jesus.

The first week focuses on the word expect. It is an Advent word. It is a word that reminds us that God is always at work in the world and in our lives. At times, God is working so deeply in the soil of our life, that we are not yet aware of its bloom. So, we wait. We expect.
For further reflection:

What are you waiting for in your life? Though we are not always aware of it, how might God be working in your life now?
