Greetings from Mr. G
Victory is a good word to describe this week in our halls. We are victorious in God's unconditional love for us; a love that is at the heart of Catholic education and the thread that weaves our daily classes, activities and interactions into a most beautiful tapestry. Thank God for Catholic schools and all who make this education possible.
On Monday we drew the lucky winner of the $10,000 tuition raffle winner and the victor is the Haddad family! We wish them heartfelt congratulations and thank everyone who participated in this important fundraiser. We sold a total of 204 tickets and expenses outside of the $10,000 prize were minimal. We will have a final net number next week but it's safe to say it will be close to $10,000. That is boost to our Blooms Fund which benefits all children in Preschool - 8th grade!
Moving on to other victories -- our spirited class of 2022 took first place in the beloved pig races when Peppa Pig crossed the final finish line on Monday. Then, on Wednesday, they took the win in the Faculty vs. 8th grade volleyball game. Both events were spirit filled, with excited fans cheering, flags and signs waving and good sportsmanship on full display. All students in Preschool - 8th grade enjoyed the sweet taste of victory at the 1950's style ice cream parlor where they had orange or root beer floats and relished all of the Catholic Schools Week fun. Hungry Hungry Hippos added to the week's excitement making our Gathering Hall THE place to be every day this week.
I am grateful to our faculty for making this an unforgettable week -- truly one for the books! I hope you have been enjoying photos in Mrs. B's Adventures in Student Life, as well as on FB and Instagram. St. Rose School spirit is a remarkable force!
On Sunday we will be hosting Open House 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Please encourage your family and friends to come take a walk in our halls. If you have any questions email Mrs. Coppola, admissions@srles.com. I look forward to seeing many of you on Sunday. Our students will also be distributing handmade thank you notes to parishioners after masses over the weekend to show our appreciation for their ongoing support of St. Rose School.
Please note that tomorrow's First Reconciliation for Second graders has been postponed until Saturday February 12th.
Now it is time to unwind for the weekend. Stay warm and safe.
God Bless,
Mr. G
