From the bottom of my heart, I hope this newsletter finds you happy and healthy. I have been painting steadily through the pandemic and a few of these paintings have found their way into five wonderful juried national exhibitions and museum shows.
Oil Painters of America (OPA) National and OPA Virtual Western Regional are thrilling shows to be juried into. The caliber of the art being shown is world class! The other terrific shows are the Plein Air Painters of New Mexico (PAPNM) National and The Albuquerque Museum ArtsThrive Exhibition. The Taos Plein Air Show through PAPNM celebrates the long tradition of plein air in Taos. I am honored to be included in all of these events.
This Spring I was juried into the prestigious group of Women Artists of the West (WAOW). WAOW ranks a WOW! I'm honored to be included in this collaborative and cooperative group of exceptional artists.
I will be heading to Ghost Ranch, New Mexico for a two week artist-in-residency this Fall. I can tramp and paint to my heart's content! I will be painting and gathering ideas for studio paintings for the Winter ahead (much like a squirrel gathering nuts, but hopefully more inspired. But who's to say? I certainly wouldn't knock the earnestness of a squirrel hunting acorns!).
Peace and good health to you all,
Barbara
