Doug's Wine Review

Forlorn Hope Mataro 2016, $39.99 - With the 49'ers playing in the Super Bowl this Sunday, how could I not write about this Mourvedre from the Sierra Foothills which hails from the region that was once the heart of the California Gold Rush? Made with minimal intervention, this bright red would pair well with wings, barbecue pulled pork sandwiches or nearly any other game day fare.
Rob's Wine Review

Foillard Beaujolais-Villages, 2018, $29.99
We just got our allocation of Jean Foillard's Beaujolais-Villages and it is drinking great. The palate is pure pleasure showing mineral and rich red raspberry fruit. Try this wine with some steak frites.
Dave's Wine Review

Chateau Eugenie 'Tradition' Cahors 2016, $15.99

This classic French Malbec manages to be consistent and consistently interesting in all vintages. Despite it's rich fruit forward style, it still manages to be a bit brooding and mysterious. This is fresh and lush with cassis and blueberry with hints of pepper and spice and just a hint of the violet perfume that dominates some South American Malbecs. Made without oak and grown organically, the Tradition cuvee is surprisingly food friendly and seems equally at home with charcuterie, stewed meats or on it's own, a perfect wine for dreary mid winter nights.x
Madison and Patrick have been in Europe so stay tuned for their great wine reviews next week!!!!
