Radio Operations Director
The Open Media Foundation seeks to hire a Radio Operations Director to manage operations of our community-powered FM radio station, Denver Open Media (D.O.M.) and related programs aimed at expanding diversity of opportunities for under-represented communities in Radio and other Colorado Media & Journalism outlets. The primary responsibility of the Radio Operations Director is managing volunteers, interns, and on-air radio hosts for D.O.M. in addition to AmeriCorps VISTA members, and partners working on our Open Media Career Engine, which helps expand engagement and employment opportunities for people of color and other underrepresented demographics in local media.

Executive Director (Colorado Press Association)
This is the executive-level leadership position for the Colorado Press Association reporting to a volunteer board representing a cross-section of our membership. Financial responsibility includes oversight for a six-figure budget plus an investment portfolio along with management of a three-person staff. Our new executive director will carry forward the strategic plan and transformative vision of the organization established by the board and predecessor. Buell Public Media Center in downtown Denver.

Field Production Workshop | August 27, 6pm - 9pm
Learn the basic processes of cinematography, lighting, and audio in the Field Production workshop. From manual camera controls to setting up a light kit and capturing quality audio, you'll finish this class with the skills needed to begin renting equipment and producing content at Denver Open Media!

Intro to Radio Operations | September 8, 6pm - 9pm
Denver Open Media has a radio station - 92.9LPFM! This workshop is for producers who are interested in submitting and producing content for the station. We will cover FCC regulations, Emergency Broadcast System, workflow for operations and how to review content. Students will also learn how to DJ at the station and how to do simple multitrack recording. The workshop will also show how to use Audition for basic audio editing.

Podcasting Basics | September 9, 6pm - 9pm
Have you ever wanted to learn how to record your own podcast, create your own stories and share them with the world? Our class will teach you all about the basics of podcasting. Explore podcast formats, break down the components of a podcast, and learn how to record and distribute a podcast!

Editing with Adobe Premiere Pro | September 15, 6pm - 9pm
This workshop will cover basic editing skills and get students familiar with Adobe's editing software, Premiere Pro. This class will ensure that students receive the support they need to acquire solid editing skills. The focus will be on learning the interface, basic tools, file management and editing tips. Basic computer literacy skills are a prerequisite. Upon completion of this course, students will have a thorough introduction to Premiere Pro as well as hands-on experience with basic editing best practices.

Intermediate Editing with Adobe Premiere Pro | September 22 & 24, 6pm - 9pm
Take your skills to the next level! This two-day workshop will explore some of the more advanced capabilities of Adobe Premiere Pro, including a deeper look at the tools in the toolbar, chroma keying, keyframing, sub-clipping, color correction, multi-camera editing, and how Premiere Pro works with the other applications in the Adobe Creative Cloud. This class is intended for those with experience with Adobe Premiere Pro or for those who have taken the Editing with Premiere Pro class. The class will happen over two afternoons or evenings.

Call For Board Members

The Open Media Foundation, which operates Denver Open Media, The Open Media Careers Engine, the  Open.Media Government Transparency Initiative, and more has two openings for new Board Members. If you are interested in potentially joining the OMF Board, the first step is joining one of three Board Committees, which meet monthly for an hour. After 3 months of Committee Participation, the Committee can nominate you for a 2-year term on the Board of Directors.

Yard Bazaar

Open Media Foundation, KGNU and the Art District on Santa Fe invite you to join us for our Yard Bazar Sept 4th and 5th at 700 Kalamath Street in Denver.  

Shop in the open air for records, CD's and books, electronics, TV equipment, and wares from local artists!  

Our parking lot market will be socially distanced, with music from KGNU DJs, food trucks and surprises.
