  • The CDPHE website updates cases daily at 4 p.m. To ensure rapid response to new cases, Broomfield staff monitors the reporting systems throughout the day, so occasionally our numbers may differ from CDPHE.

  • It is Easter weekend. Can we go to church or to visit family?
  • Many churches are conducting services virtually. Here is guidance for places of worship on how to conduct services remotely.
  • Our mountain towns continue to be particularly hard hit by the virus. If you own a home in the mountains, please avoid traveling.
  • Now is the time to connect with our friends and family in new ways. Try video chatting or live streaming your backyard Easter egg hunt. Technology is our friend in staying connected these days!
  • Please remember to maintain social distancing with any non-household members. Getting together for “just a few hours” can impact the spread of the virus.

Telephone Town Hall: Join the next Telephone Town Hall each Thursday at 7 p.m. Residents can call 855.695.3744 the night of, or sign up to be called directly . RSVP and share the Facebook event for updates as well. Town Hall audio is now streamed live on Channel 8 as well. Thank you to the 1,500 participants that joined the Telephone Town Hall yesterday. The Great Egg Roll Thru
Today April 11, drive thru at the Paul Derda Recreation Center between 10 - 11 a.m. for a socially distanced visit with the Easter bunny and his helpers. Participants will stay in their vehicles and drive through the PDRC parking lot to receive a bag of pre-stuffed Easter Eggs and wave to the Easter Bunny. All bags were stuffed while wearing masks and gloves, and all staff participants will be wearing masks too. Please remember, this is a stay in your car event - no walk ups are allowed.

  • Census Response Rate: 
  • National Response Rate: 47.1% | Up from 42.8% on 4/3
  • Colorado State Response Rate: 50.6% | Up from 46.0% on 4/3
  • Broomfield Response Rate: 59.3% |Up from 54.0% on 4/3 (2010 Final Response Rate: 73.4%)
  • Still 3rd highest response rate in Colorado behind Douglas and Jeffco.

Federal/State Update:
  • Gov. Polis Update on COVID-19 in Colorado at the Colorado Convention Center. Watch Press Conference
  • Construction starts today on two Tier 3 facilities to help manage a possible surge in patients. Tier-3 care facilities will have resources and staff capable of caring for patients who are recovering from COVID-19 who no longer need a critical or acute level of care. Watch Video
  • The Governor also pointed out that the Colorado Department of Local Affairs, Division of Housing (DOH) awarded more than $1.9 million of emergency assistance to 19 agencies to serve low-income Coloradans in need of emergency rental and mortgage assistance due to economic hardship due to COVID-19. DOH has also developed an Eviction Resources Map that can be used with 211 to help renters avoid eviction.

  • Read Colorado Tenant’s Guide to COVID-19.
  • Use NextDoor’s Neighborhood Help Map to find neighbors in your area that are able to help in a variety of ways, such as phone check-ins, pet care and more. Follow all safety guidelines and requirements while getting helping or providing help to neighbors. 
  • For Businesses: 
  • Visit Broomfield.org/COVIDEconomicSupport for information and links to help businesses and employees sustain through this downturn and support the rebuilding of our local economy. 
  • For Employers: Updated information about the U.S. SBA’s Paycheck Protection Program and the Emergency Injury Disaster Loans. Your business lending partners are now taking applications for both loan programs.
  • For Employees: A direct link to file for the expanded Unemployment Insurance programs and benefits and information on other programs, such as Bridging the Gap.
  • For Residents to Support Businesses: Information about local businesses serving our community, with adjusted service and hours. 
  • Businesses can apply for the Enhance Broomfield program, which offers a one-time grant of up to $7,500 which can be used for operating expenses including rent, wages, marketing, utilities, and supplies. The application is also a good step forward in filling out an application for a U.S. SBA loan if a business decided to do so.
  • Support Resources for Colorado Businesses During COVID-19 is a resource site hosted by the Colorado Office of Economic Development.
How you can help
  • Donate Blood: There is an urgent need for blood donations. Visit Vitalant.org or call 303.363.2300 for scheduling or questions.
  • Donate Money:
  • Donate to the Disaster Relief fund through the Broomfield Community Foundation.
  • There is an immediate need for ”stay-at-home” alternatives for unhoused neighbors living in Broomfield. The Towneplace Suites has offered a special rate but additional funding is needed. Donate to the Emergency Sheltering fund through the Broomfield Community Foundation so folks have a place to stay until the end of April. 
  • Donate Food: FISH is asking the community to help fill a critical need for cereal. They have placed donation boxes at area King Soopers and are grateful for any help as they face an unprecedented need.
  • Donate Items:

  • The Broomfield VOAD is encouraging healthy volunteers to assist FISH at their facility. Sign-up to volunteer at FISH.
  • Are you a medical professional? Sign up to volunteer.
  • Governor Jared Polis created the Colorado Covid-19 Innovation Response Team to introduce telehealth/telemedicine service supporting approximately 800,000 uninsured and under-served Coloradans. Help the team provide health services while reducing strain on healthcare facilities, leaving hospital beds open to the most severely ill.
  • Use NextDoor’s Neighborhood Help Map to list things you are able and willing to do for neighbors in your area, such as phone check-ins, pet care and more. Follow all safety guidelines and requirements while helping or providing help to neighbors.
