The GAB encourages you to click the link below to listen to Bobby Baker, Gary Schonman, and Sima Nilsson discuss the do’s and don'ts of this political season. You can also find the full Power Point presentation, and notes from GAB President, Bob Houghton.

Updated Executive Order On
GAB COVID-19 Resource Page
Broadcasters play a critical role in informing their viewers and listeners about COVID-19 and other matters of public safety. The GAB wants to make sure we help you fulfill this role in any way possible. This page is your go-to resource for broadcasters related to COVID-19 and we will update it continuously. The page includes information about FREE sales training, preparing stations and employees, links to resources for newsrooms regarding coverage, links to critical information sources, and the NAB Coronavirus Response Tool Kit.

If the GAB can assist you or your station in any other way during this difficult time, please email us at admin@gab.org or respond directly to this email.

An Important Note Regarding ABIP
In conversation with the Atlanta Federal Communication Commission office, we were informed that they, (the Atlanta Field Office) would honor the Certificate of Compliance even though it may have expired during the COVID-19 lock down. Once it is safe to travel, inspections will resume.

Did you know, that as a member of the GAB you are able to get a FREE Alternative Broadcast Inspection?

ABIP allows a three-year immunity from a walk-in FCC inspection. Once compliance is achieved and a certificate has been issued, the FCC will not perform a random walk-in inspection of the station for three years from the date of certification. Click the link below now to schedule yours today!
Georgia's AmeriCorps Programs Awarded $3.7M
Governor Brian Kemp announced earlier this month that Georgia has received $3,711,928 in AmeriCorps funding from the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), the federal agency responsible for AmeriCorps and other national service programs.

These grants will put 597 AmeriCorps members on the ground to serve with 22 organizations. AmeriCorps members will tackle some of the toughest problems in Georgia including education, economic opportunities, healthy futures, veterans and military families, homelessness, people living with disabilities, financial literacy, and environmental issues.

AmeriCorps’ unique model means that the grants announced today will leverage an additional $3 million from the private sector, foundations, and other sources – further increasing the return on the federal investment.

In addition, CNCS will provide over $2 million in Segal AmeriCorps Education Awards for the AmeriCorps members funded by these grants. After completing a full term of service, AmeriCorps members receive an award of over $6,000 that they can use to pay for college or to pay off student loans.
