The Mission Education Committee
Mission Education Committee's December Project...
This year, during the month of December, we will be reviving a project from the past. The 'Food For the Poor Chick Project' aims to provide food for families in the form of eggs and also income from extra eggs. Food For the Poor is a non-denominational organization helping families in the Caribbean and Central America. They have a 5-star rating with The Better Business Bureau, giving out 95% of monies received to the poor, and only 5% going to administrative costs!

A donation of $10 will buy 7 chicks, $30.00 a whole flock! Whatever amount you choose to give will be appreciated. Members of the Mission Committee will be accepting your donations after services on all Sundays in December. Please help us to meet our goal of 300 chicks by giving generously! And don't forget to take a chick ornament for every donation!
Notes from the Music Corner ...
We are happy to have Katharina Keller rendering several vocal selections for the first Sunday of Advent, December 1. Katharina was the 2018 Jeris Waldvogel Scholarship recipient and has graciously returned several times to offer her talent at Ebenezer. Her songs will help us commence the season of Advent as a period of anticipation and preparation to experience God more clearly. A request has been made to sing more Christmas carols during December instead of the brief time at Christmas. There are many meaningful Advent hymns (#101-123 in the New Century Hymnal) that prepare our hearts and minds for the coming of the Christ Child. Indeed, we do continue singing the Christmas hymns during Epiphany in January. We wouldn’t think of putting a roof on a structure until the walls were put up, nor do we want to sing the Christmas carols until we have prepared with Advent music.

Ebenezer Brass handbell choir is working diligently to present their annual Christmas concert at 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 15. The theme is “Sensing Christmas” which will include both sacred and secular music. St. John’s UCC Choir will join the bell choir for several selections. Please come to experience a wide variety of exciting music, plus food and fellowship to follow. Ebenezer Brass will also be participating in the 4 p.m. Christmas Eve service.

Sydnee Koenigs was awarded the 2019 Jeris Waldvogel scholarship on Sunday, November 24. She is a graduate of Hilbert High School and is presently attending UW Green Bay majoring in secondary education with a minor in music. We will look forward to having her share her musical talents with us soon. Congratulations Sydnee!

Elaine always appreciates your comments and suggestions to keep music a vital part of Ebenezer worship.
