Flags and stone graves of fallen soldiers
Best wishes to all for a Happy Memorial Day weekend: the unofficial start of summer!

Enjoy the holiday festivities - parades! fireworks! barbecues! Please drive safely if you're on the road. Most importantly, let us each take a moment to honor the women and men who gave their lives to their - and, for most of us, our - country.
BROWN BAG LUNCH OUTREACH
What happens when 30,000 slices of bread, 2,250 pounds of peanut butter, and 1,500 pounds of jam are combined with love and commitment? Well, it’s amazing. Nothing short of magical.

For the past 14 months 115 volunteers have been dropping off brown bag lunches at the church every Saturday afternoon. Some every week, others once a month or even every other month. And it all works.

Making 5, 10, 15, 20 lunches isn’t that big a deal, except when we all do it together and then it makes a big difference. Last Saturday we surpassed 15,000 lunches!

Want to join in? Click HERE for our easy to follow directions. Questions? Call or email David Vita: 203.227.7205 x14 or david@uuwestport.org. Hope to see you some Saturday!

LOOKING AHEAD: All children, youth, and families are invited to attend the June 6 Family Faith Formation Celebration Worship Service, either in person or virtually. The service will feature video montages of the children and youth, as we share with the congregation what we have been doing for the past several months. It promises to be great fun!
June 13: Three high school seniors from our congregation will be Bridging this day during the worship service. Bridging is the symbolic celebration to mark our young people passing from childhood to adulthood. They are Trevor Cooper, Lillian Boland, and Anna Seiple.
GREETERS ARE INTEGRAL TO OUR SUNDAY EXPERIENCE:
CAN YOU HELP US?
view of church spire from memorial garden
Being a diverse and welcoming religious community is a cornerstone of our mission. To that end, our Membership team is asking all of us if we can help on Sundays. Can you greet our newcomers and welcome them to our wonderful community - either in person, or on ZOOM?

We can talk with you ahead of time and share written instructions: it's an easy assignment. Show up by 9:45, stay after the service ends, and be on the lookout for new folks. Introduce yourself, get names, emails, and invite them into the community as you would someone coming into your own home.

Please click HERE to sign-up for a slot or two in an upcoming week. Thank you!
Questions? Contact Rob Zuckerman or Beth Cliff.
From the Reopen Committee: We are continuing to adjust to new positive developments at our live church gatherings. For the next few Sundays, we do ask that people wear masks in the Sanctuary. However, as of July 4th we will not require them. (Note both June 20 and June 27 are broadcast services only and not in person.) Please check with your doctor if you are uncertain how to proceed. Questions? Contact Rev. Ed Thompson.
A note from Rev. John: We will be running a full schedule of summer services from July 4th through August 29th. Services will be both in person and live-streamed for ZOOM. The services will be delivered by TUCW congregants on a wide array of subjects, including, prayer, grief, sacred practice, faith, human rights. Sunday Services will be held at 10:00 AM. Childcare at the church will be provided for pre K-5th grade. Online break-out room discussions and in-person (outdoor) discussions afterwards. Stay tuned!
