Remembering Murdered Civic Activist Kateryna Gandziuk
It has been one year since the death of anti-corruption activist Kateryna Gandziuk. But those who ordered the murder still haven't been brought to justice.
From the Kyiv Post

A group of Gandziuk’s friends and activists, known as the “Who killed Katya Gandziuk” initiative, organized the Nov. 4 event called “One Year Without Katya” outside of the Presidential Office. It was an event of remembrance, but also a call to the  continued fight   against the corruption that Gandziuk had been murdered for, and a demand to prosecute the organizers of her murder. With the new presidential administration, people wonder what will happen next.

BioUkraine Update
Ukrainian Scientists Developing Biotechnologies to Detoxify Environments
A visit to Dr. Oleksandr Tashyrev’s office at the Zabolotny Institute of Microbiology and Virology of the National Academy of Sciences in Kyiv is like a trip around the world. The walls are covered with photographs, flags, and other mementos (including a shrunken head!) from his many trips to Asia, South America and even Antarctica. His laboratory seems straight out of a Jules Verne novel. Yet the work Dr. Tashyrev and his associates are performing there with largely antiquated and restored equipment has broad applications for a topic on many people's minds these days - the environment.
USUF vice president Markian Bilynskyj meets with Dr. Oleksandr Tashyrev and his staff.
