HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BRIAN
Dear Ones,

Brian celebrates his birthday on November 11th -- so let's find a way to add to his birthday celebration and to help him feel the love which surrounds him during his recovery and which anticipates his return to our parish family.

The last time I visited with Brian he told me again how much he misses all of us -- so here are two ways you can wish him a happy birthday:

1) You can send him a card -- either directly to him, or through CVSM which is planning a "birthday card shower".

2) You can also send me a "selfie" or any photo of you or your family and I can put our faces together for a visual birthday card, which I can show him the next time I visit with him. What I'd love best is if you would send me a short video of you wishing him a happy birthday. And of course, if anyone would like to sing "Happy Birthday to him", please do!

It is actually quite easy to send me a photo or a video, and I can help you with it-- You can text me your photo at 717-333-5590 or email it to me at rector@standrewsship.org.

Please send me your photo or video by November 8th.
I know he'd love to see your smiling faces!

Thanks for continuing to make the love of God real in our world and in Brian's life.
Many blessings,
Barbara

The Mary Grace Shearer, MSW
Scholarship
for the Advancement of Social Work
We often imagine the moments when heaven and earth meet to be extraordinary moments, but they are actually moments set within our ordinary lives, when love makes the difference. These holy moments of the in-breaking of goodness into the lives of others happened all the time at the Episcopal Home. The ministry to those in need of excellent personal care was faithfully provided by the administrator, Mary Grace Shearer for 40 years.

We invite you to join us as we honor her ministry and her commitment to the advancement of the vocation of Social Work. The Episcopal Home Board, in collaboration with our diocese, has created a fund to provide a scholarship each year to a student pursuing a degree in Social Work. This will carry on Mary Grace's legacy of love.

We are hoping to raise $20,000 for the fund and we invite you to participate.

You may make your contribution in the following ways:

1) Send a check to St. Andrew's, earmarked for the Mary Grace Shearer MSW Scholarship -- and we will gather the contributions and send them off to TFEC (The Foundation for Enhancing Communities).

2) You can send a check directly to TFEC at the following address: 200 N. 3rd Street, 8th Floor, Harrisburg, PA 17101

3) You can make an online donation, by following this link.

4) You may make a stock transfer, with the following information to provide to your financial advisor. Click here.

Our parish will make a gift to this fund and we invite you to add your personal contribution to this marvelous way to honor Mary Grace.

In gratitude,
Barbara+
An Invitation to Worship
Proper 25 - Sunday morning service
We continue our "In-Person" and "Church at Home" worship this weekend:

"Church at Home" anytime this weekend. See the links below.

Sunday, October 25th at 8 a.m.
The service on Sunday morning will be Rite 1, spoken service, and the Holy Eucharist.

We would love for you to join us, if that is the right decision for you at this time. We are employing safety procedures to protect you and all who enter our building. For more information about what worship in this time will be like, please visit our website to know the details. It is helpful for us to know of your intention to be with us, as we have a limit to the number of people who can attend any one service, so please email Mother Barbara if you plan to be with us. We'll have a place waiting for you!

Many thanks to Kathy Varner, our Liturgical Artist, who showers me with beautiful images for our recorded services, which allow both of us to engage in the spiritual practice of connecting the beauty of images with the truth of the scriptures and music.
We still all participate in the Worship
for we are still the Body of Christ
Every few months, we "begin again" with our prayer list. We are always happy to pray for whomever is on your heart -- and we ask that you tell us who you would like to be added to our prayer list. To do so, please email Mother Barbara or call or text her at 717-333-5590.

And if you would like to update her on any ongoing pastoral situation, please reach out to her. Providing pastoral care to one another is so vital in this time and we want make sure all are feeling the love and care we wish for all of us.
If you would like to receive communion at home, or in the quiet of the church at a time other than our regularly scheduled worship services, please contact Mother Barbara. She is very happy to create these opportunities for you.
