Black History Month Trivia
Celebrate and test your knowledge of Black History! Faculty, staff, and students from all campuses are encouraged to participate in our weekly trivia quiz for a chance to win a different prize every week, with one grand prize at the end of the month!
The first quiz closes Thursday, February 3 at 5 pm. Correctly answer this week's quiz to be entered into the prize drawing.

Primary Care ACT Program Applications Close Friday
Deadline | February 4
This innovative three-year program prepares students for early entry into a traditional primary care residency. It has three tracks: Family Medicine, General Internal Medicine, and Pediatrics. After completing residency, three years of continuous, full-time, medical practice in a medically underserved rural area of Georgia is required.
To qualify, you must be a Year I student, be in good academic standing, and have a strong desire to practice primary care in a rural area.

Deadline to Waive Spring 2022 Student Health Insurance Premium is Friday, February 4
All MUSM students are assessed a health insurance premium each fall and spring semester in which they enroll for 3 or more credit hours. If you have alternate coverage, you may waive the premium each semester. If you do not complete either the waiver or enrollment process by February 4, 2022 at 5 pm, you will be automatically enrolled in the student health plan. If you are automatically enrolled, your insurance will not be activated until after the enrollment/waiver period. Learn more

2022 MUSM Research Awards
The 2022 MUSM Research Awards cycle is now open. Nominations are now being accepted for three awards:
- Excellence in Faculty Research
- Excellence in Student Research
- Excellence in Research Mentoring
Nominations will be accepted until Monday, February 14, 2022, and nominees will be required to submit supplemental materials by Monday, March 7, 2022.

St. Francis Internal Medicine Residency Program Applications Now Open
Deadline | February 20
The new Internal Medicine Residency Program at St Francis in Columbus is now open for applications for this year in ERAS. There is a short window for applying and they are giving preference to MUSM students.
Interested students can send their information and CV to Dr. Anupa Rai, the program director, to preview. Please note your board scores and copy Dr. Alice House. Students must also officially apply through ERAS.

HOSA State Leadership Conference Judging
March 11 | Atlanta
HOSA, Future Healthcare Professionals, is holding its State Leadership Conference and competitive events Friday, March 11, 2022, at the Marriott Marquis in Atlanta, and is looking for student volunteers to judge their competitive events.
All volunteers will receive a gift, a meal, and free parking.

Applications for 2022 Gold Student Summer Fellowship Program Now Open!
The Gold Student Summer Fellowship program allows medical students to complete a research or service project related to community health, helping students develop skills to become compassionate, relationship-centered physicians.
The award includes a stipend for a single project of up to $4,000 for a 10-week period.
Deadline: March 20.

DermSwipe IRB Research
Class of 2022 students are invited to participate in a research study, sponsored by MUSM and conducted by The Wake Forest Department of Dermatology alongside Dr. Steven Feldman. The research will last for four weeks, with a weekly survey each month, and an examination at the end of the month. Upon completion of the study, you will receive $25.
There is no obligation to participate in this study, it is entirely voluntary.

Hands-on Telehealth: The Business of Medicine Series

Georgia Partnership for Telehealth will provide an interactive demonstration of how rural physicians meet the needs of their patients with a practical demonstration of Sickle Cell Disease management and a discussion of how telehealth is used for school-based care.
