It's hard to believe we have almost reached the end of 2019! In the USA, we will very soon celebrate "Thanksgiving." It's a wonderful day to feast, and also to pause, giving thanks to God for everything he has gifted to us.

In this spirit, I would like to especially thank you, our UCE donors. I also extend a warm thank you to the UCE team leaders and volunteers whom I have witnessed working hard for UCE, even amidst less than ideal conditions. Truly the combined generosity of you, our UCE donors, and our UCE team leaders and volunteers, has borne much fruit within the UCE ministry. In this issue, I would like to share some recent stories highlighting our "thanks" to you.

UCE depends on your support to continue this important work. If you haven't yet sent a gift in honor of UCE's 15th birthday, please kindly consider a $15/month (or more!) monthly donation by clicking  here !

I wish you and your family a very blessed and Happy Thanksgiving! May you pause to reflect and thank God for each of the gifts He has given to you.

In Christ,

A Student's "Thanksgiving" to UCE Donors

UCE outreach for St. Bernard High School and
Matyazo Fundamental School, 9/23/19, Burundi
I really thank the UCE team for bringing us this message. Many of us have suffered due to ignorance. I was not aware that there are more than 23 sexually transmitted diseases. I was touched by the message and I will continue to abstain before my marriage. In fact, this is the message we are looking for as a youth...I'm now equipped to fight for my life. May God bless UCE.

Katavi region of Tanzania

Education Officer Thanks UCE for the Pro-Life  Message!
During the month of September, UCE-Tanzania achieved their goal of reaching a new region of the country, Katavi (see adjacent map), whereby UCE-Tanzania delivered 14 outreaches to a total of 5,773 youth, during which 4,055 signed chastity comm itment cards!

Misukumilo Secondary School Outreach, 9/18/2019, Tanzania

The message below is from the Municipal Secondary Education Officer, Ms Enelia Lutungulu, after UCE outreaches in Katavi region (Tanzania):
''I never knew that there is an organization doing such good work. The situation in our schools is not good. The number of student dropouts due to pregnancies is high... Most of them have no education on how to defend themselves against premarital sex temptations. It sometimes happens where parents refuse to show cooperation to the police or court once information about who impregnated their daughter is needed. They know everything but they pretend not to be aware of anything either because of corruption or being happy that a pregnant student can get married and the family will benefit from the 'bride price.'

In short we need this education frequently to our students.... Also I will talk to the head of schools so that on some days Herman (UCE team member who is working in the region) will be getting some time during morning assembly sessions to talk to students about the chastity message. Also I will send the report to the Municipal Security and Safety Council where the District Commissioner will also be notified about this. I am sure she will be very happy. Thank you very much for your time and such a healing message to our students.''

UCE-Tanzania gratefully reports: "We are very proud of education officers and school officials without forgetting teachers and guardians of the UCE clubs.* The whole country has been the front line to ensure the education we provide is moving forward. Indeed, the club of ours has become a "yeast" of change and growing professionalism in different schools that we have reached. Since 2009 we have already reached over 12 provinces, and more than 500 secondary schools. We have already made a large number of young people, who are doing well in so many places, our ambassadors.

We, in UCE, believe in waiting for sex until reaching marriage, and being loyal to those in marriage is the only way to prevent HIV infection spread, while supporting academic growth, psychology and formation.

We like to encourage students to, "Rule your mind so that you can live a healthy life."

*A UCE Club is formed at some schools after UCE deliver an chastity education outreach in order to reinforce the chastity and purity message to the students through continued instruction, student fellowship, skits, sports, and/or music.
