Wilson Education Foundation Honors Educators At Annual Event
On Friday, September 25, members of the Wilson Community celebrated the achievements of three Wilson educators at the Wilson Education Foundation’s Bulldog Bash event, held at First Energy Stadium.

Dr. Rudy Ruth was presented with the annual Wilson Legacy Award. Dr. Ruth is a prominent figure in the history of the Wilson School District. After spending 12 years in the classroom, he transitioned to the Dean of Students position at Wilson Central where he would later become principal. Then, in 2006, he began his role as Assistant Superintendent and would eventually become Superintendent where he served until his retirement in 2016. Dr. Ruth’s family was on hand to celebrate this achievement with him!

In addition, Mr. Jeremy Geeza and Mr. Cory Luft were honored as the 2020 Extraordinary Teachers of the Year. This program was brought to the Wilson School District in 2016 by Sun Federal Credit Union. To receive this award, students, parents, fellow faculty and staff, and community members, nominate Wilson teachers for this honor. Mr. Geeza retired in June, 2020 from his position as a High School Technology and Engineering teacher. Mr. Luft currently serves as a Technology Education teacher at Southern Middle School. Both Teacher of the Year recipients received a $1,000 award from Sun Federal Credit Union and the Wilson Education Foundation.

Congratulations to all our award recipients, and thank you to the Wilson Education Foundation for your ongoing support of our students and staff!

Grandview Gallery Presents Online Exhibit "quARanTine"
The Grandview Gallery is excited to premiere the online exhibition “quARanTine: Wilson SD Faculty & Staff”!

To say the least, 2020 has been a rough year and we want to embrace it! We asked the talented current and former employees of Wilson School District to share their creations made during quarantine and to speak about their inspirations. These works and their inspirations share many themes. These themes are as universal as the experiences we face together during this pandemic. This collection of work is a reminder to stay strong, healthy, and creative.

You can visit www.grandviewgallery.net to see the online exhibit. The online exhibit runs through 1/8/21.

Art is expression. Art is therapeutic. Art is love.

Community ThoughtExchange Results Summary
Thank you to our community for taking the time to participate in our ThoughtExchange! We appreciate the many thoughts we received regarding the question “Now that school has been in session for a few weeks, how would you describe the experience?” You can find a summary of the Exchange here.

We will leave you with this wonderful thought that we received, “We really do appreciate and applaud all of the teachers, staff, administrators, and school board members. These are incredible times. Thank you. You should know that we appreciate all that you're doing for our kids. We know that you love them as much as we do. Their pain is yours too. Thank you.”
