Central Ohio's Largest Irish-American Women's Organization
"American by birth, Irish by the grace of God!"
Dear Daughters of Erin Members,

It's very sad that it was necessary to cancel our annual in-person Christmas meeting. I know we were all looking forward to getting together for the festivities and wonderful meal, but as we've seen, COVID-19 has become very real for the Central Ohio Irish community. Friends and families have been affected with some experiencing loss of loved ones. We are thankful though that there is hope on the horizon with coming vaccines. We pray that in 2021, we can return to some kind of normal.

Even with the pandemic, this year members of the Irish organizations have responded very generously to our request for donations for our 10 adopted families. Thank you! We still have many giving opportunities. Read about them below.

This Sunday, we will get together on Zoom. Please join us to congratulate our Irish Woman of the Year. We will will also have a toast with with your favorite beverage and an Ugly Christmas Sweater contest.

The Board and I wish you a very Merry Christmas! Stay safe and we will see you in 2021!

Peace,
Chris
2020 ADOPTED FAMILIES

Thank you to all members who have donated items or made donations for the 2020 adopted families! This year, possibly more than ever due to the COVID pandemic, we are asking for your help. We have 10 families that are in great need of assistance. There are 26 children in these families. Close to half of the items on the lists are still needed.

We have created a Sign-Up Genius page with items that you can purchase for the families, or you can make a monetary donation and we will purchase the gifts on your behalf.

If you purchase a gift and would like to have it shipped directly to us, please put the following shipping information on the package: Cheryl Costello, 235 Walhalla Road, Columbus, OH 43202.

If you would like us to pick up the gift from you (we can do no contact pick-up), those arrangements can be made easily. We will need all the gifts by Saturday, Dec. 12 to give us a week to prepare before delivering to the families the week before Christmas.

If you prefer to send a check, please mail it to: Daughters of Erin, P.O. Box 1912, Columbus. 43216-1912.

Please call or text Cheryl Costello at 614-774-8879 or email her at cherylcostello@yahoo.com if you have any questions or just need additional details.  Thank you for your generous support of this charity work.

We are continuing to collect gently-used children's books to be donated to the Ohio Job & Family Services for children who come in with their parents for benefit assistance. Please let Cheryl know if you have books.

KROGER COMMUNITY REWARDS

Thank you ladies for shopping at Kroger and choosing to benefit the Daughters of Erin. Last month, we received more that $88. This money is raised from Kroger Cards registered through Kroger Community Rewards.

Signing up or registering your account is easy to do. The best part is that YOU still receive your Kroger rewards (coupons, fuel perks, etc) but behind the scenes, the Daughters of Erin receives a percentage of what you spend at the Kroger Store.
In the search field, type in Daughters of Erin or enter the organization # 81910.
