Dear faculty and staff,

We are writing to let you know that unfortunately a member of our faculty has tested positive for COVID-19. This is a breakthrough case.

While we are required to follow NYS guidance, due to the prevalence of positive breakthrough cases, MLWS is requesting all faculty and staff who attended the College meeting/faculty nourishment on Tuesday December 7th to take a rapid/antigen test, regardless of vaccination status, before arriving to the school campus on Monday, 13th December. Please email your results to: covid-confidential@mountainlaurel.org

For your reference:

Ulster County Dept of Health Guidance:

“Close contact definition: Someone within 6 feet of an infected person for a cumulative total of 15 mins or more over a 24 hour period

(EXCEPT in the K-12 indoor classroom setting. Students who were between 3-6 feet of a positive student AND wore well fitting masks the entire time do not need to be placed in quarantine. Please note that the exception only applies to students and not to faculty.)

Exceptions from quarantine: If someone is a contact and is FULLY vaccinated or previously positive. Fully vaccinated contacts do not need to be quarantined or excluded from in person instruction.”

Thank you for your cooperation,

The MLWS Administration
