As the academic year comes to an end, the Center for Global Programs & Services (CGPS) writes to extend our best wishes and offer a few helpful reminders to you. As always, we invite you to contact our office anytime you have questions or concerns about your immigration status and experience at UD.
Travel Reminders
For those of you in the U.S.: if you are planning to travel abroad this summer, now is the time to make sure you have your immigration documents in order. International travel at this time can still be risky and we want to make sure that you have considered all possibilities before you decide to go abroad. Before you travel, please make sure to read our Summer Travel Reminders. For additional travel guidelines and recommendations, please refer to the CDC website. We also encourage you to consult with an ISSS advisor if you have any questions, especially regarding your return to the U.S.
Employment Reminder
It is important to remember that the U.S. defines “work” as any activity that someone would normally be paid to perform. International scholars must contact CGPS before accepting any type of outside employment, short-term consulting - including unpaid activities. Always check with ISSS before accepting any employment even if it is unpaid or a “volunteer” position. Summer Programming
Save the dates June 23 and July 21 for two in-person summer socials! We’ll provide more details once we have approval, but these afternoon events will be a great opportunity for those of you near campus to see who’s around for the summer, play some games and make new connections before the Fall.
Office Closed on Summer Holidays
Please note that our office, like many other University offices, will close on Monday, May 31 for Memorial Day; Friday, June 18 for Juneteenth; and Monday, July 5 for Independence Day. In both cases we will open the following business day at 8 a.m. If you have an emergency during non-business hours, call (302) 831-2222. If your question does not require immediate attention, please email CGPS at oiss@udel.edu.
