This Week at Mount Hope // April 06-12, 2020

Welcome to this week's edition of the LOOP.  In this email, you will find everything that's happening over the next few weeks within our Mount Hope Community.
EASTER AT MOUNT HOPE

In our society, there is plenty to be said and taught about being a good leader.  Books have been written, TED talks have been spoken and seminars happen daily on the topic.  But what about choosing a leader?  Are there many books written on that topic?  Honestly, that may be harder to find.

As we have been studying the book of Judges, we have learned about many leaders.  This week we take a closer look at what kinds of leaders the people are looking for and why.  God's word shows us the best kind of leadership and points us to Jesus on this Palm Sunday as we head into Holy Week.

This past Sunday, we once again met online as a church as we celebrate Jesus' death and resurrection. If you missed the service, please click here to watch the service.

SERVING OUR COMMUNITIES
HELPING THE BELMONT COMMUNITY

The Belmont Massachusetts Parents Group Facebook page has found a way to help others during the COVID-19 crisis. Belmont mothers and co-moderators Amy Kirsch, Shana Wang, Kristi Armstrong, and Fitzie Cowing have recruited more than 100 volunteers from Belmont Massachusetts Helps Out to help deliver groceries and meals or pick up prescriptions for individuals in the Belmont and Watertown area who are unable to leave their homes because they are ill, quarantined or have young children.

If you would like to help, you  sign up to Volunteer by clicking here. You may also help your Belmont community by  making a donation that will go toward helping those who are critically in need. Meanwhile, if you would like to stay updated on COVID-19 Crisis in Belmont, please  click here

HELPING THE BURLINGTON COMMUNITY

Burlington's  People Helping People is a nonprofit organization, and under its umbrella, the Burlington Food Pantry will be providing meals and assistance to the many families who are affected by the COVID-19 Crisis.

Burlington Public School are not meeting in their facilities currently, thus causing an interruption in the program that provides families with free and reduced lunches. This is where People Helping People will step in.  This week alone they will be providing groceries to 80+ families with the help of Volunteers and donations. Families with children will also receive a week's worth of breakfasts and lunches. They need your help to keep this program going.  If you would like to help  by volunteering or by making a donation please click here .

RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE

During these times we often wonder how we can help.  Giving blood is always a good way to another who may be in need.  Right now there is a shortage of blood units and the Red Cross has an urgent need for donors.  The opportunity to give right here in Burlington is coming up within the next couple of weeks.  Please see the information below and thank you in advance for your help.

DATES/TIMES: Tuesday, April 14 from 2-7pm
             Friday, April 24 from 10am-3pm

AVAILABLE RESOURCES
Our children are a gift from the Lord! As parents, we often need help along the way to raise children who glorify God and positively impact the world around them. As we come across resources and tools that we find helpful regarding parenting and/or family related topics, we like to share them with the parents in our community.
MARRIAGE
When we get married, we all hope to have a marriage that thrives and is full of joy. But as we experience life, we realize that this takes hard work and we often help from those who've "been there." Whether you're just starting out, have been married for a while and need some encouragement, or doing well in your marriage, this ministry is for you!
FINANCIAL
As a part of our ministry at Mount Hope, we offer budget planning and financial counseling services for those looking for wisdom and direction in that area. With our partnership with Beantown Money, these services are available to everyone in the Mount Hope Community at a reduced cost.
