November Housekeeping

We're entering our last full month of this semester, and it's bound to be a busy one as you finish up your coursework, prepare for finals, and look forward to Thanksgiving. On top of all that, you also get to start thinking about next semester!

On Monday, October 28th, the Spring 2020 course list was made available. There are two weeks between the arrival of the course list and the start of registration. Use this time to meet with your advisor to discuss the courses you are interested in taking next semester.
Preparation is the key to beating the registration rush and getting into your classes early will ensure that you do not end up on the wait list. Registration opens on November 11th for degree-seeking students and November 25th for non-degree-seeking students.

You should also be filling out scholarship applications in your free time. Having too much money makes life at UAF a lot easier than having too little, so try to be financially prepared for next semester! Your advisor is a great resource for financial aid, as is the  Financial Aid Office !

Last day for student- and faculty-initiated withdrawals (W grade appears on academic transcript) November 1st 2019 5:00pm.

Welcoming RSS Student Assistants!

Keesha Paul
Hi!
My name is Keesha Paul, I am from Manokotak which is in the Bristol Bay region. I am originally from Kwigillngok, which is about 80 miles away from Bethel in the Lower Kuskokwim region. I am a first year student here at UAF and I am majoring in Yup'ik Language. Something I would like to share about myself is I am fluent in Yup'ik,  I like to go hunting, commercial fishing, berry picking, camping, I love playing basketball, singing and having akutaq (eskimo ice cream). My thoughts on Rural Student Services is that, the faculty here are always willing to do their best to help and see you succeed no matter what it takes. The dedication I see that goes on at RSS is a quality, I am so honored to be a part of.
Esther Berlin
Hello!
I am Esther Berlin, and I'm from Kasigluk, AK. It's my fourth year here at UAF, working towards a bachelor's degree in Accounting. In the beginning of my college career, I remember not knowing what needed to be done as a student. Thankfully, RSS took me under their wings and guided me throughout my time here at the University. RSS is not only full of helpful workers but also a great, welcoming community. When I'm not working or busy with assignments, I enjoy drawing, baking, and spend time with friends and family.

Start off your weekend at RSS with a Positive Connection Night! You'll be surrounded by friends, activity, and good food!
