CURRENT COMMUNITY MITIGATION LEVEL
SUBSTANTIAL TO SHELTER IN PLACE

The health, safety and welfare of our property owners, residents, employees, visitors and businesses are priority one for Hot Springs Village. We encourage social distancing or sheltering in place to prevent COVID19 from spreading in our community.

We also encourage supporting local businesses as can safely be achieved.  Several are offering delivery services, online services, gift certificates and other creative methods to serve their customers and we applaud their efforts.

We encourage you to visit our webpage  https://explorethevillage.com/members/hsv-covid-19/ that is being used to provide the latest updates, including closings and postponements.

The CDC is recommending that all Americans wear a cloth face cover when they go out in public. The cloth face mask is meant to protect other people in case you are infected. You can be transmitting COVID-19 for up to two weeks while not showing any symptoms.

Please do not use a face mask meant for a healthcare worker.  Continue to keep a distance of six feet between yourself and others. A cloth face cover is not a substitute for social distancing.

A tutorial on making your own face mask is available here. You can read about recommended fabrics to build your mask here.

State of Arkansas
Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced that Arkansas schools will be closed to in-class instruction for the rest of the school year. Arkansas students will be able to complete their classes via alternative learning methods.

Hutchinson also said that Arkansas will be extending the use of five ventilators to Louisiana. He said this will not harm Arkansas patients.

Hutchinson said that there are now 875 positive cases of COVID-19 in Arkansas. Of those, 74 people are hospitalized and 16 have died. Hutchinson said that the numbers of infections are increasing but the rate of increase has slowed down.

You can see the governor's daily COVID-19 update here.

Golf
Until further notice, all Hot Springs Village golf courses are only open to members and their guests who are in the company of that member.

Please do not call in guests to utilize these areas without accompanying them. Please keep outdoor group gatherings with six-foot spacing between individuals or it will result in the closure of courses..

Gates & Visitors
Thanks to the members for a significant reduction in guests being called in over the weekend. This past weekend, April 3-5, showed only 79 authorizations for guests, down from the previous weekend, March 28-30, of 163.

On Saturday, April 4, Governor Hutchinson issued an executive order directing the limitation of commercial lodging and short-term rentals during the COVID-19 outbreak be limited to only a certain list of qualified occupants effective April 6.

Immediately thereafter, Hot Springs Village POA leadership communicated this order to lodging and rental officials, asking for their assistance in executing this order and explaining that we would cooperate fully with any federal or state investigations into suspected violations

In keeping with this order, the Hot Springs Village RV Park will only take reservations from Members that meet the specified qualifications of the order and previously announced HSVPOA/State of Arkansas restrictions. RV Park reservations can be made by calling the Ponce de Leon Center at 501-922-4231. The RV Park process is contact-less, with reservations, payment and registration taking place over the phone.
