Week 1 of Distance Learning was a success and Week 2 is off to a good start! Many students are continuing their educational opportunities by participating in our OCPS TPE Canvas Online Learning.

Teachers and students have been able to reconnect and continue standards-based learning experiences. In addition, some of our Tiger Scholars are continuing their Distance Learning by working on standards-based Learning Packets.

We would also love to have you join us virtually, when possible. All Tiger Scholars should be granted the opportunity! If you have an older sibling in middle or high school you may use their OCPS Laptop, a cell phone or a home laptop/computer, please join the Virtual Learning Exploration by logging onto your OCPS Student LaunchPad.

Week 2 Learning Packets were mailed to all students for this upcoming week.
Our main office will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., by appointment only. Call or email the school for appointments.

Let's make the rest of Week 2 another great opportunity of LEARNING AND GROWING!

Week 1: Digital Learning Highlight with Ms. Muniz

Ms. Muniz (2nd grade teacher) and her students were engaged in a teacher-led Virtual Learning Station Activity during Week 1.

Ms. Muniz shared the following about the virtual learning experience:

It was Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at 3:00 pm. The first five minutes we talked about how was their day so far. Then we started with that day's task of Solving Take-Apart Word Problems. We reviewed and discussed how to solve word problems by using the CUBES strategy. I modeled the first exercise using the CUBES strategy, then Student A and Student B had to explain how they solved the word problem. It was so amazing how they worked! I was so happy!! This lesson was also in the 2nd grade MATH ACADEMIC PACKET page 6.
