GREETINGS!
FROM THE DIRECTORS...
Greetings!
Have you ever done something for someone else only to discover that your act had meaning and significance beyond what you imagined? That’s what happened with one of our wonderful volunteer Shofar blowers. With sadness, we share the passing of Walter Gold A"H, husband of Bobbie Gold and a close friend and donor of Chabad of Rockville. In his final days, Walter got to hear Shofar on Rosh Hashana at home, thanks to one of our wonderful volunteers who so generously took time out of his busy schedule to learn how to blow Shofar for Jewish members in our community stuck at home during the holiday due to the pandemic. As Walter put it, "This year was the most meaningful Rosh Hashanah. How kind of the Shofar blower to come by my home!". Walter will be dearly missed by our family and the community.
Volunteers and donors powered our COVID efforts all month. We measure the effectiveness of those efforts in the smiles on your children’s faces—and adults, too—as our Sukkah on Wheels pulled up to make COVID-safe neighborhood Sukkah celebrations and the expressions of joy and gratitude from so many vulnerable members of our community whose lives are brightened by our Holiday Food Packages and our Lessans Family Mommy & Me Loaves of Love project.
We are so grateful to all who volunteer and donate to help make our accomplishments possible! If you didn't get a chance to donate yet, join today in our ongoing COVID-19 relief efforts, by visiting his link and donating however much you are able!
May G-d keep you and yours safe and healthy always,
Rabbi Moishe and Esther Kavka
Co-directors
Chabad of Rockville
