The First Church community invites you to celebrate the 34-year music ministry of Shirley Derryberry. We will honor Shirley’s dedication and commitment during the 11:00 a.m. worship service, followed by a reception afterward. A collection basket for notes and love offerings will be available at the reception. Offerings can also be made through online giving by designating "Love Offering for Shirley Derryberry."

We continue to collect assembled bags for our hungry neighbors experiencing homelessness. Email Pastor Cathy Stone with questions and to coordinate drop-off.
CELEBRATIONS
We celebrate Becca Edwards' recommendation by the FUMC Charge Conference to proceed to the next step of Candidacy for Ordained Ministry as a Deacon in the United Methodist Church. Later this spring, Becca will seek certification from the Capital District Committee on Ministry and join our community of Certified Candidates at FUMC: Melissa Biegert, John Hathaway, and Brad King. Let's keep all of them in our prayers as they continue to discern God's call, and be sure to share your love and support with Becca!

FEBRUARY MISSION EMPHASIS
Each month we highlight a ministry or program that we see transforming lives and invite you to support it with your prayers and gifts above and beyond your regular financial support. This month’s mission emphasis is Huston-Tillotson University. As Austin’s oldest institution of higher education and its only Historically Black College and University (HBCU), the university is a sacred space. HBCUs play a vital role in dismantling racial inequity, developing community, and educating future world leaders.

Join our continuing investment in the students and the work of Huston-Tillotson University through their Annual Fund. Your gifts, marked "Huston-Tillotson," may be left in the Offering basket as you leave the Sanctuary, made online, or sent to the church during the month of February. To donate online, select "Other Designated" from the drop-down menu and indicate "Huston-Tillotson" in the memo section.
