Dear York Catholic  Parents and Students,

As we have entered an unprecedented time in world history, York Catholic continues to follow the guidelines shared by Governor Wolf's Office, the Pennsylvania Department of Education, and the Diocese of Harrisburg.  As such, we know that schools in the State of Pennsylvania will remain closed "indefinitely."

I'm writing to thank you all for your continued support and partnership during York Catholic's Continuity of Education through Distance Learning.  Your feedback through last week's parent survey and email communication via [email protected] has been valuable as we continue to plan for the uncertainty of the rest of the school year.

It is with that feedback in mind and after consultation with other schools across our county and the Diocese of Harrisburg that we have amended our school calendar to allow for synchronous (live in-person) online instruction beginning April 15 and lasting through the remainder of this period of Distance Learning.

For the sake of planning, we have mapped out what the remainder of the school year will look like if we do not return to the regular school setting at all.  Below you will find the amended schedule, which will begin the week of April 13th.

Under the new schedule, students will be required to join their synchronous classes at the times indicated in the table below.  Attendance will be recorded and monitored for each class session. Students should check their Google Classrooms for the links to the synchronous instruction sites.  During the one hour class period, teachers will present synchronous learning for no more than 30 minutes at the beginning of each hour. The remainder of the time will be for students to complete any remaining classwork or homework as assigned by their teachers.
