Football, apple cider, pumpkin bread, leaf pile jumping, a visit to the pumpkin patch, craft fairs or a drive in the country to take in the fall colors... There are lots of events and traditions that are unique to this season.
This fall we began what just might become a new tradition in our communities. At varsity home football games in New London and Hortonville, we sponsored the WRCB Field Goal Contest where a contestant from the crowd was given the choice to attempt to kick an extra-point or a 35 yard field goal. A successful extra point was worth $50 to the contestant and $50 to the school. A successful field goal was worth $500 to the contestant and $500 to the school. Regardless of the success of the kickers, the bank committed to make a $500 donation to the schools. This was yet another way to have some fun and continue our support of the education system in our communities. Stay tuned for the WRCB Half-Court Shot Contest during the basketball season!
It’s not too late! Many customers have recently taken advantage of the low mortgage loan rates. Mortgage rates continue to be favorable for many borrowers. Now may be the time for you to look into refinancing your home loan or determining if a home purchase makes financial sense for you now. Talk with one of our mortgage experts. They can help you with a pre-qualification or can evaluate your options to see where you can save.
In the fall, squirrels will hide acorns for winter food. Many people stack firewood to have an ample supply for the colder months ahead. Perhaps now is the time to “squirrel away” some funds for when they are needed. We have a variety of checking, savings, money market accounts and CDs to suit most any need. Talk with a banker or visit us online to see what type of account might be right for you.
I love this time of year. The contrast of the cool, fall air and the warmth of a crackling fire. A favorite autumn tradition of mine is to settle in front of the fireplace with a good book and a warm cup of cider.
