Prince of Peace 2019

Celebrate Advent & Christmas Eve at Slash

God and Jesus have many names in the Bible, each one describing their relationship to us as individuals and to all humanity. Those many names help us understand how God and Jesus relate to us and explain how Jesus can be both God and a human.

We will talk about some of those names from Isaiah 9 during the Sundays of Advent. The Prince of Peace worship series will be about four names and titles used for Jesus: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.  Let's discover together how these names relate to prophecies of the Messiah, and also how they set apart Jesus as the Son of God and Savior of the World.

Join us at Slash as we discover that true peace is found in those who choose to follow Christ. Advent starts December 1st.  Make plans to join us on Tuesday, December 24th at 4:00 pm in the afternoon for our family friendly Christmas Eve Candlelight Service.

Christmas Family:
None of us knows what tomorrow will bring. What position will you find yourself? "Stuff" happens, and we do not always have control of that. As in many years past, Slash Christian Church is sponsoring a family in need for Christmas. We will be helping a family of 2 young children - 6 and 3, with a third on the way. Hard times have now placed this family in
a homeless situation but with your help, maybe we can make a difference for this young family. A list of items will be available to you. The young ages of these children will make purchasing items of toys and clothes so much fun this year. Let's help to clothe these young children. Let's help to buy a few toys. You may wish to combine efforts with more than one person to split the purchase of an item. Let's bring a few smiles and share your gifts with others. Let us be part of sharing the love that God has asked us to share. Let's once again make Christmas a little merrier!

Gloves and Hats for the Christmas Mother!
Again, you have helped to keep little hands warm. On behalf of the Christmas Mother, thank you to everyone who donated gloves to help those less fortunate!

It is time to mail off all of our old Sunday School materials.  We mail them to Edwin L. Hodges Ministries in Alabama.  They in turn ship them to third world countries and use them for teaching and training of pastors and lay people.  They have asked for any Christian materials, books, DVD's, CD's, as long as they are in good condition.  They especially need bibles.  Please bring all materials to the Loving Building (room with the piano) by 12/1/19.  If you have any questions, please contact Betty Sue.
