Please note, with the fluid nature of the ongoing emergency, some dates listed below are subject to change.

The City updates the COVID19 Information website frequently as new details become available. 



    
MANDATORY MASKS BY-LAW
St. Catharines by-law requires owners and/or operators of enclosed public spaces, to require mask use by those entering their establishments, in addition to the provision of hand sanitizer at entrances.
The Mandatory Masks By-law is now in effect, enacted on Friday, July 17, 2020.

CELEBRATION OF NATIONS | MARK YOUR CALENDARS
September 11 to 13, 2020 | Virtual Festival Event Lineup Announced!

On Friday 11 September, Celebration of Nations will begin virtually with a profound short film entitled Starborn that captures the essence of our current existence.

The virtual festival will feature livestreams of Blood Water Earth by renowned Indigenous creator Santee Smith of Kaha:wi Dance Theatre. Indigenous JUNO Award winners LeE HARVey OsMOND (aka Tom Wilson), Celeigh Cardinal and 2020 Polaris Music Prize shortlisted artist Lido Pimienta are set to share livestream performances.

Presentations and teachings will centre on the 2020 theme of Mighty Niagara and the Great Lakes Watershed. The Indigenous Niagara Living Museum Tour, an online experience, will transport visitors to several significant cultural and historical Indigenous locations within the region.

St. Catharines Museum & Welland Canals Centre and Lock 3 Viewing Platform | Open to the Public
  • The Museum facility and the Lock 3 Viewing Platform is open by timed entry only.
  • Visitors will be required to call ahead and book a time to visit the facility. 905.984.8880
  • Visitors will have 1.5 hours to visit the Museum and Lock 3 Viewing Platform with their timed entry. 
  • There will be four entry times throughout the day: 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.; 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.; 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Masks will be required to visit the St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre.
  • The Centre is closed at times throughout the day to accommodate additional cleaning of the facility.
  • The Lock 3 Viewing Platform will only be accessible through the building in order to control the number of visitors to the site.
  • Visitors are encouraged to wash hands frequently and hand sanitizer stations are provided throughout the facility to help visitors stay safe

The Ontario Trillium Foundation has introduced the one-time Resilient Communities Fund to invest in the recovery and rebuilding efforts of the non-profit sector impacted by COVID-19. Supporting capital and non-capital activities to aid in the medium to longer-term recovery efforts of organizations.
