Push Against Hunger this September!
Come out to meet our huge vehicle procession with your non-perishables or monetary donations as we pass by! Mayors, Council Members, DRPS, Fire, Paramedics and Ontario Regiment help us raise awareness, food and funds to help those in need as we push the shopping carts from Oshawa City Hall to Regional Headquarters in Whitby.
Durham's Empty Bowls
The concept of Empty Bowls is used worldwide to raise awareness and support to help alleviate hunger by emphasizing that many people simply do not have enough to eat. The beautiful bowls donated by local artisans and, a highlight of the event, signify the many thousands of empty bowls in our community. Attendees will enjoy live music, craft beer sampling, a silent auction, door prizes while sampling some of Durham Region’s finest chefs' signature cuisines and desserts.

WORD AROUND THE WAREHOUSE
 Sincere thanks to Loblaw-DC 60 in Ajax for arranging for the repair of our fork lift. The fork lift is vital to our operations and we don’t have a back-up. So when Loblaw took care of scheduling and invoicing our necessary repairs, we were truly appreciative of this helping hand.
 A phenomenal “Thank You” to our summer staff made possible by the Canada Summer Jobs Program. Tom and Carolyn had a huge impact in our warehouse and office. They offered their technical skills, enthusiasm, strong backs, and willingness to take on any challenge presented to them. It was a pleasure to have you with us each day. Remember that you are always welcome in our warehouse.
This summer, our volunteers moved mountains of food in the face of the extreme temperatures. Despite the heat and the humidity, they continued to sort, lift, pick, pack, and deliver an average of 25,000 lbs of donations each week. They were fueled by an unwavering commitment to their fellow volunteers on their shift, their desire to help our community, and lots of ice cream.

RECENT EVENTS
Durham Students sure DID Cram those cruisers!
Huge thanks to all of the schools who participated and to our partner Durham Regional Police Service! 15,168 pounds of food, equivalent to 12,640 meals was donated during our Cram-A-Cruiser event this year!
DBFDC participants totally knocked it out the park this year!
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Durham Business Food Drive Challenge this year! Together, you raised over 33,000 meals for our hungry neighbours! Surpassing the goal of 30,000 meals! Fantastic!
A big shout out to our August Golf Tournament supporters!
Collectively they raised funds which will support distribution of over $450,000 worth of food to our community.
