PAUL SANNER
Dear God, we come to worship you today.
We come to sing, pray, and listen.
You always hear us.
Help us to hear you. Amen
Scripture
Colossians 1:9-14 New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)

For this reason, since the day we heard it, we have not ceased praying for you and asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you may lead lives worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, as you bear fruit in every good work and as you grow in the knowledge of God. May you be made strong with all the strength that comes from his glorious power, and may you be prepared to endure everything with patience, while joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has rescued us from the power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Reflection
Hymn Text (tune Bunessan (often Morning Has Broken)

Christ be beside me; Christ be before me;
Christ be behind me, King of my heart.
Christ be within me; Christ be below me;
Christ be above me, never to part.

Christ on my right hand, Christ on my left hand,
Christ all around me, shield in the strife.
Christ in my sleeping, Christ in my sitting,
Christ in my rising, Light of my life.

Christ be in all hearts thinking about me;
Christ be on all tongues telling of me.
Christ be the vision in eyes that see me;
In ears that hear me, Christ ever be.
Closing Prayer
God, thank you for all you have given us -- we always have enough, even in trying times. Please help me to live today with an open heart and open mind to your will -- that I may see the world as you want me to see it. Please help me to be a good neighbor and friend to all of those around me. Amen.
