Rx Partnership's Response to Coronavirus
Extension of the Prescription Delivery Program into 2021!

To view a full size version of this report,
Rx Partnership's newly established prescription mail delivery program has been a resounding success. Clinics and patients alike have appreciated the option to have prescriptions mailed directly to patients' homes instead of patients having to pick-up their medications from the clinic.

RxP previously extended the prescription mail delivery program until the end of 2020. In September, the Rx Partnership Board of Directors again voted to officially extend the mail delivery program until June 30, 2021

Rx Partnership Spotlight
Rx Partnership's Supplemental Clinic Supports

In addition to providing affordable medication access programs and the new mail delivery program, Rx Partnership also supports our clinic partners in many other ways by providing: resources, education, training, and additional tools.

CLINIC SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM
RxP recognizes we're in unprecedented times and we wouldn't be able to operate without our exceptional clinic partners across the Commonwealth that provide direct services to vulnerable Virginians. At a time of economic uncertainty, RxP has committed to supporting our clinic partners by providing direct sponsorships for clinics to use on fundraising events, trainings or even staff & volunteer appreciation events.

PILL BOXES
RxP's newest pill boxes featuring removeable day of the week compartments.
Medication adherence is critical for patients to keep their chronic conditions under control and stay out of the hospital. Because of that, RxP purchased a supply of pill boxes for each clinic partner to distribute to their patients. Pill boxes are an important tool, especially for patients who take multiple medications, to increase medication compliance and allow patients to better organize and plan out their medications throughout the week. They also help remind patients if they've already taken their doses for the day or not.

15TH ANNUAL ROUNDTABLE TRAINING SESSIONS
RxP hosts a yearly training for our clinic partners to learn about current health care issues, network with colleagues, and share best practices to better serve their patients. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, RxP's Annual Roundtable training was virtually held on October 14th over two different sessions- one for clinics with pharmacies and one for clinics without pharmacies. The agenda included informative presentations on: RxP updates, best practices, clinic idea sharing and Pharmacy in Virginia.

We'd like to thank our 2020 Roundtable sponsors for their support!

Ronald, a patient at CrossOver Healthcare Ministry, shared that he
doesn't know how he'd get his medication if it wasn't for CrossOver and Rx Partnership. Ronald typically works 10-hour days doing home remodeling and has fortunately remained employed throughout the pandemic. Recently, CrossOver began shipping his medication directly to his house using RxP's new prescription mail delivery program so now he doesn't have to worry about missing a day of work to pick up his medication.

RxP In the News

Despite the uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, Rx Partnership staff has been hard at work to ensure that:
  • There was no medication service disruption to our clinic partners or patients;
  • Eligibility screenings didn't prevent patients from getting the medications they needed;
  • We're supporting clinics the best way we can by providing resources and establishing new programs to benefit both clinics and patients.
Rx Partnership is proud of what we've been able to accomplish working remotely during the pandemic and we're excited to share several press items highlighting our critical work.

Small nonprofit makes big impact on lives, health of people
CrossOver's ability to supply inexpensive medications is largely due to its connection to a little known Henrico County-based nonprofit. Called Rx Partnership, the small nonprofit works behind the scenes to supply free and low-cost clinics like CrossOver with free brand name and generic medicines that they can offer at low cost to patients.

The mail delivery program, which was designed and launched in just 30 days, aims to reduce the possible exposure to the virus for patients, clinic staff, and volunteers and ensures that patients with chronic conditions receive vital medication in a timely manner.
