Join Missio Seminary in Celebrating 50 Years

A Note from President Frank James
|
|
As we start 2022, Missio Seminary is preparing to launch the Polis Center. In November 2021, Missio received a 5-year grant from the Lilly Endowment that will help us further incarnate the gospel in our community by offering three new certificate programs to equip and empower church and lay leaders integrate faith, work and entrepreneurial skill for the flourishing of communities, as follows:
The Certificate in Social Enterprise
The Certificate in Christian Entrepreneurship
The Certificate in Missional Business
The purpose of the Polis Center is to help revitalize the church, support lay and church leaders, and promote well-being for all citizens through entrepreneurial and business programming. This is aligned with our missional perspective and demonstrates our commitment to support healthy and thriving communities in a time of cultural complexities.
Earlier this week, we honored the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. King was the essence of missional and his Kingdom work continues to have a profound impact on my missional perspective as well as that of the Seminary. You can review my MLK message here.
I am also happy to report that we have raised $96k for the Arthur R. White scholarship. As soon as we reach the $100k goal, the donor will match with another $100k. Please consider giving to the Arthur R. White Scholarship today to support academic opportunities for students who are committed to being missional and following Jesus into the world.
Thank you for your continued support and please continue to pray for Missio.

Conversation with Missio Board Chairs
|
|
President Frank James recently had an opportunity to sit with the last three board chairs, Joe Longo (2011-2014), Karen Sawyer (2014-2020), and Susan Post (2020-present). This engaging and insightful interview demonstrates that God is at at the heart of what we do and Missio is being led by strong and faithful leaders—leaders who are guiding Missio with a servant’s heart, faith, courage, and an authentic ability to lovingly embrace the intricate dynamics of our age.
The full video will be released in March, but in the meantime, enjoy this preview of what is to come!
