April 2020
We are a Worship+2 church, which means we worship, learn, and serve! We have found ways to worship and even learn remotely during the COVID-19 outbreak as we will continue to send you a weekly worship outline and sermon along with a lesson for spiritual growth. Below we are listing ways to serve our congregation, community, and beyond. As requests come in to us, we will add them to the list and email them to you. As long as an opportunity is still a need, we will leave it on the list. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus.
SERVE
Congregational Care
“…serve one another in love…” –Galatians 5:13
In this uncertain and challenging time, the Congregational Care Team is here to assist our brothers and sisters in Christ. We have volunteers in place who are available to run errands and grocery shop. If you have a specific prayer need, email your request to  pmartin54@nc.rr.com , and our team will pray for you. We will continue to reach out through cards and calls.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if we can help in any way or if you would like to volunteer. Contact the church at  pumc@pinehurstumc.org  or Pam Martin at 910-400-5138 /  pmartin54@nc.rr.com
F3 Concierge Services
Under normal times, the men of F3 Sandhills are part of a national network of free, peer-led workouts for men. In times like this, we mobilize to serve our community.

We are offering a free, personalized, no-contact concierge service to pick up and deliver your prescriptions, groceries, or take out meals within the Southern Pines, Pinehurst and Aberdeen communities.  Click here to learn more.
Good Call Connections
There are a large number of seniors living alone in Moore County and this program offers weekly calls by an assigned volunteer to chat/check in. What the program needs now is participants! If you would like to receive a wellness call each week, please contact Jonathan Scott of the Moore County Dept. of Aging at jscott2@moorecountync.gov.
You can also learn more about volunteering by contacting Jonathan .
School Closure Food Delivery
Thanks to the USDA, emergency food is being provided through the Summer Food Service Program operating under the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. As a returning sponsor, Boys & Girls Club of the Sandhills was positioned to access these resources and have partnered with Moore County Schools to serve lunch and next-day breakfast for children 18 and under daily Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Based on feedback from families as well as community organizations and volunteers, their goal is to serve and impact as many youth as possible during this crisis. Click here to volunteer, donate monetarily or apply to receive assistance.
DONATE
Crackers & Fruit Cups
We will still honor our weekly commitment to provide 100 cracker packs and 60 fruit cups to provide snacks for children and seniors in need. Donations can be left in the plastic bin by the front door of the church. They will be picked up daily.
UMCOR Response
The COVID-19 Response Fund has been initiated by the NC Conference of the United Methodist Church .   This is a Conference Advance for the support of local churches. The bishop has encouraged each church to share this opportunity for generosity as a witness of our shared life and an opportunity to support those most impacted . Click here to give.
Moore Free & Charitable Clinic
“With compassion and respect, Moore Free & Charitable Clinic provides health care to the limited income, uninsured of Moore County.”

Donate today to support essential health care for the under-served of Moore County.
Food Bank
As schools and workplaces close, more and more people in our community are turning to the food bank for assistance. With your support we can help make sure no one goes hungry during this uncertain time.
Give today and generous friends of the food bank can match your gift — up to $122,000 — to help provide meals.
Coalition for Human Care
For the safety of volunteers and clients the Coalition is closed for donations. Monetary donations via their website are encouraged instead of delivering food items in person at this time. Click here to give .
Family Promise
Financial donations are needed as the staff will extend their hours to cover all shifts 24/7.
Donate at  www.fpofmc.org  or
PO Box 1173, Aberdeen, NC 28315.
Family Promise will remain open and continue as a home for the homeless children of Moore Co. Please pray that they will be able to keep their house open and serving these families.
